Overall I also prefer Xenoblade 2. The character quests are better in 2 (not Ursula though)I found XC3 to be more disappointing in general. I feel that Future Redeemed should have been what Main Game XC3 should have been

I actually disagree I really enjoyed XC2 a lot but I personally LOOOOOVED XC3, for me it my personal favourite Xenoblade.I think Xenoblade 2 has more happier tone, making it more memorable. Xenoblade 3 has really somber tone.

LOVED that too, but we needed to see Aionios from perspective of Noah and others instead of them getting over shadowed by legacy characters. What did you think of Future Redeemed?

So I'm personally glad they put Rex and Shulk on expansion rather than main game.
Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance coming out soon and there is also Octopath 2.Can anyone recommend a good turn based JRPG on PS5? I've already played DQ11 and P5

I'm playing Paper Mario 64 and Star Ocean R. Both excellent.
I played this a few years ago but ended up quitting about halfway through because of all the game's difficulty spikes. I know difficulty spikes are basically a staple of old JRPGs, but this game seemed particularly egregious with them. Good luck!Discovering Vay on the SEGA-CD.

The games feels just right between being very classic but keeping my attention. Combat is fast paced, difficulty requires some planning of your dungeon exploration. Story is actually pretty interesting and unconventional. Music is also pretty good, and battles are full screen and animated. I really love the gradients for the outside backgrounds during battles. Honestly, a pretty good surprise. I was expecting something very average, but I would say that overall, this game offers more than the sum of its parts.
I don't recall if I ever completed this game. I enjoyed it, though. I bought it at release due to Lunar being amazing and I would have bought any Working Designs game (or probably any Sega CD RPG). It wasn't quite as good as Lunar, of course.Discovering Vay on the SEGA-CD.

42h in, end of August.
It's ok, but not as good as P5 imo.
You did the best one first, by far. Blue Dragon is ok but IU I honestly wouldn't bother.I only bought a 360 last year together with Blue Dragon, Infinite Undiscovery and Lost Odyssey, three games I never played before. Only got around to finishing Lost Odyssey though.
I'd say no.Does Elden Ring count?
Check out the orchestral music mod if you can.I'm about to start Dragon Quest 8 on the 3DS. Looking forward to playing it.
Well, I am at the 30 hour mark and the Blue Dragon becomes more engrossing the more I play. I just got to some town populated by robots and the music is fantastic. The game reminds me of Dragon Quest, but the combat is much more interesting. There is no way I will finish this before the weekend, so it will undoubtedly be paused for Daybreak, but I'll definitely be finishing this one.I only bought a 360 last year together with Blue Dragon, Infinite Undiscovery and Lost Odyssey, three games I never played before. I snagged Lost Odyssey and Infinite Undiscovery as well. I suspect all three of these games have their equal share of fans and haters, but they seem fine to me. I just want classic JRPG goodness.
I finished that game some months ago... it was awesome, even though I bought that game 10 years ago lol but didn't back then ( i didn't appreciate it as I did now)... now i'm going back with this one from the same producer:

That tornado boss was fucking bullshit. Biggest difficulty spike I've ever seen in a JRPG.I played this a few years ago but ended up quitting about halfway through because of all the game's difficulty spikes. Do check out the DLCs for 16 as they have some great boss fights and world building. Don't expect anything close to the Elden Ring DLC though...Finished FF16 and on the strength of its story, voice acting and amazing setpieces it has become my favorite in the series. Above 10 and 7. That final boss fight was probably my favorite in all of gaming.
Playing Eiyuden Chronicle now and early going but already liking it a lot. Reminds me of Suikoden 2 heavily.
I already had a season pass and finished both DLCs. Loved em.Put over 100 hours into FF7 Rebirth in Feb/March which is one of my all time favs now.
Now playing P3 Reload. I've already beaten the game twice before with FES and Portable lol.
After this definitely Metaphor in October and then at the end of the year it's a toss up between Ys X, Eiyuden Chronicles and Dragon Quest 3 HD.
