what jrpg are you playing right now ?

Started Skies of Arcadia: Legends. I've made it to Valua and I'm still very on the fence on the game, it just feels so... empty. There are glimpses of goodness here and there but it's going to need to do a lot more to win me.

Tempted to startup BoF:DQ or the .hack games.

Been dabbling with The Last Remnant. It's not too bad...

superb jrpg. Dayum shame it doesn't get a lot of love. Played it on 360, got about 98 percent of the achievements.

the combat later on just gets so much better.

I'm currently playing D2, atelier ayesha. Since I already beat xillia, I'm not sure if i should restart and play milla's side. Also, now that I platinum'd dragon's crown, i'm just levelling up my amazon.

Currently playing FFVI and KH1.5

At the world of ruin already and recruited basically everyone
except Shadow who got killed :(
Party is in the low 40s atm and trying to teach Celes and Terra Firaga, Hastega, Slowga etc.

In Kingdom Hearts I'm trying to take on the secret bosses, just finished Kurt Zisa and will try the phantom or Ice Titan next.
Game is seriously very hard on Final Mix Proud and I'm currently sitting at lvl 70 might have to do some grinding.

FFV (iOS - which has the most non-story ever, but the characters are fun) and its excellent job system. While the combat is very archaic, the freedom of the job system makes it very fun to explore.

FFXIV: ARR (PC) - Yes, it's a wow-clone, but it's a very very good wow clone. The only real issue I have is that the world is split into sectioned instances instead of being fully open, and world exploration isn't dangerous at all. There's no real threat when you expore as you can just sprint past everything (sprint at mount speed from the start), and sprint is on a very low CD.

Still, the foundation is excellent, and the dungeon content is very well done. It's early days, and the game's only just released a content patch that brings it up to where the devs wanted it at release, so there's a way to go yet. If the next few patches bring as much as the last, this should be a very well realised mmo this time next year (hopefully sooner!).

Agreed, even though the (great) combat system could be improved (why can't I choose where I move during combat?). Sadly I think we won't see it again...
If you really like the game and have a decent PC, you should try the PC version. Much less loading times and being able to play with only captains is great.

I do have the PC version, but it isn't in me to start a jrpg i've almost completed once more. I did get a save file that has a lot of the materials already.

You're getting me hyped to replay the game. Bought it recently for the Wii on VC.
Nice. It's still really great.

It looks nice too. I don't know if it's because it's on a smaller screen, but the art still holds up. Great use of color and lots of little details.

Picked up The World Ends with You on Thursday after hearing so many good things about it. Only about 4 hours into it but I'm pretty lukewarm on it so far, with my main problem being the awful touch screen controls. Half the time I try to activate a certain pin I wind up activating something completely different. Just feels very imprecise and messy to be honest. Right now all I've been doing is the touch screen equivalent of button mashing in battles. Feels like a Kingdom Hearts game in that regard. I really dig the music though and the art style kind of reminds me of Jet Set Radio in a way, which is a good thing.

Just beat Persona 4 Golden. Don't know what to play next. looking for games native to Vita/PS3. I'm thinking Us Celceta at least. Any other suggestions?

Beat the PS3 version of SO4, I skipped almost 80% of the cutscenes. Fun game, the battle system holds up extremely well still (probably second favorite of this kind, after Tales of Graces f), item creation makes it so it's easy to break the game wide open once Sarah joins the party but it's very awesome the amount of customization options for your equipment the game gives you. Good stuff, I give it an 8/10.

The lack of disc swapping shenanigans should make the post-game content more enjoyable.

Game gets very good in the second half imo, once you
get the airship and the headquarter, a la Suikoden.
(Spoiler, maybe... or maybe not)

First half is kinda meh, honestly. (Though I'm still mad I couldn't get the 100% because I needed over 1k of casual encounters, no way I was going to suffer through that)

I'm about to give up on Persona 3 Portable.

This game is a horrific, frustrating grindfest. Currently stuck at the level 180 bosses in Tartarus, who have no trouble wiping my party out in a few moves while taking minimal damage from any type of attack. Ugh.

Went back to Xenoblade after a six month hiatus. I think, for some reason, it's a million times better than when I first played it. One of the better jRPGs I've played in recent years.

Unless you ran through all the floors, you never really need to grind. It more about using the right persona.

Xillia is surprisingly a long game....

I was floored when the characters unlocked a 2nd Lilium Orb. Holy crap, did not expect that.

Hoooooooooooo boooooooooooooooooooooooooooy.

I am obsessed with filling them out now hoooooooooooooooooooooo boooooooy.

Mario and Luigi RPG 3: Bowser's Inside story. I got it when it first came out and played about 6 hours of it and now I'm finally getting around to finishing it. I remember really, really liking it when I first started, but now I just find it overly simplistic and far too wordy. The localization is great, there's just way too much talking and explaining in that game, even 10+ hours in. Just let me play!

Chrono Trigger (DS): I got to the very, very end of this game years and years ago but never finished. I'm gonna go grind in that extra dungeon they added for the DS version and finally beat the game.

You really do. I've spent hours grinding and it's still not enough.

In addition, there is absolutely no way of knowing what fusions will bring about which persona (unless you spend hours and hours making a chart, I suppose) without looking at a guide. And when you do look at a guide - like I did - you realize the persona you need requires a certain level. Which I am not. Which requires more grinding.

It's been a long while since I played Persona 3, but which one is the 180 level boss again?

My pattern for playing Persona 3 is always like this: zooming straight to the boss floor from the floor the team started, only fighting the monsters that are in the way, never bothering actually filling the map or whatnot.

I never had any problems with bosses by doing that. Well, "never had any problems" is not exactly true but I beat them all just fine. Not too many grinding necessary too, especially if you have been expanding your persona collection.

And hell, I played Persona 3 FES where you can't even control your team-mates. Your playing the version where you can control them so it should be way easier experience than mine, hahaha.

Just started Atelier Ayesha.
Not so impressed so far. Meruru seemed better on every point (why replace the city construction by the memory system? Not convinced by the alchemy so far either). And well, the lack of japanese dubs is kinda annoying.
Agreed on memory stuff and alchemy but I still really enjoyed Ayesha. Not irked by lack of Japanese dub since English is the default voice in the Atelier games and that's how I played them.

Ranking all four on PS3: Totori = Meruru > Ayesha > Rorona
Ayesha has the worst alchemy system out of the lot.

Technically, I'm still working on Persona 4 Golden, but I keep going on and off with it. This happened to me with Persona 3: FES. I try and hunker down and play but something else steals my attention and I just sort of drift away from it for a while. But I really should get my butt in gear.

Also, I bought Tales of Xillia on a whim since it was 10 bucks on PSN, so i might try and start that up. And then I realized that I might want to replay Wild ARMs again. And Vagrant Story. And Chrono Cross. I need more HOURS in the day.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory.
20 hours in. I'm really enjoying the characters, story and humor in this game. Very entertaining.

Persona 3 FES and Max S.Link Persona 4 Golden run.

Just finishing up my P4 Golden Max link now. Everything is at rank 10 with the exception of Jester/Hunger, which is automatic anyway. Only a few more scenes to go before the final dungeon and I wrap this up.

However...I'm not sure I can do it.

It's Valentine's Day...and I Romanced...

I've made a huge mistake

Also playing P3P, on my Christmas Vita.

Five hours in, just got to the main second block of the school. I've played the initial 7-10 hours at least four times now, so hopefully I'll start seeing some new stuff soon and stick with it this time around.

Going to try to finish this before Bravely Default hits the states, but that's looking less and less likely.

Got back into Dark Souls this morning in preparation for the second one. Cleared the game for my second time and started my New Game++. Going to check out the DLC stuff on this run and mop up a few more trophies to get my Plat.

I think I am somewhere around 1/4 the way through The Guided Fate Paradox. So far I'm very happy with the purchase
Christmas gift
, hoping the game keeps introducing new mechanics. I don't want to burn myself out too early, because I am really enjoying what I've played so far.

I just keep intermittently coming back to my Xenoblade Chronicles save. Only 30ish hours in, but I love it.

Also, played that Bravely Default demo for many wonderful sessions- kept the demo open, as to not eat up any more of the uses (30 still, BOO).

I guess I'm a couple hours in Ys: Origins too on PC- I love the fast paced action of that game.

And I just downloaded Tales of Xillia-

sheeeeeeesh, I guess I was knee-deep in more than I realized!

Started SMT: Digital Devil Saga 2. Only played for 20 mins cuz I got sleepy. Can't wait to see how the story plays out.

The-Last-Story.jpg

Just started this up, only about 10 minutes in but it seems aight. Playing it on the wii u
The framerate is keeping me from finishing this. Joke's on me for playing it on a Wii.

Persona 4 Golden!

I am having SO much trouble deciding on whether I will play Persona 3 FES or P3P afterwards. I've never play led Persona 3.

If you set your Wii up correctly, then you should be able to dump the save onto your computer and run it through Dolphin.

That should fix your resolution and framerate issues.

P4:G

I'm trying to see how much I can get done in the first run. I'm getting the feeling I'll have to do three runs in order to complete it :(
