What makes GAF so popular?

Does anyone have any tangible ideas on why GAF is such a popular messageboard forum, where it makes us just want to post for the hell of it - and it has such interesting gaming topics - where as the gaming age website itself is - in all honestly, bland.

I think it's because sigs are disabled, so people can't post photos of their car with each post.
But maybe that's just me.

Yeah, I think the inability for people to automatically post a large image with every message you post helps set this board apart.

...HINT HINT.

No, actually there's a reason behind all of this - but you won't see it, because none of you can explain why gaming-age.com is a pretty crap gaming news website (seemingly always days behind) but the messageboard forum is much more involved. I have no answer for it either.

Its awesome members!
Yeah practically. It's at least #1 in msg board news-wise. Some people enjoy some shitty games, but overall mostly everyone knows what is good from the drivel.

Thanks for the informatoin, it is one of the top messageboard forums...

Some of you in this thread are:
B. Trolling

Trolling is considered to be the act of purposely being disingenuous to an active discussion. Negative commentary on given topics is by no means disallowed; however, such comments should attempt to be substantiated. No matter your supposed intent, if the forum administrators perceive you as a troll making unsubstantiated comments in an attempt to provoke the forum body, actions may be taken by the administrators.

Here's what you can do about images, since the MS flaw is fixed:
C. Images

Images of a sexual or profane nature are discouraged. Images presenting exposed genitalia, bared buttocks, and/or female nipple/aureola are not allowed. Outside of this, common sense and a "safe-for-work" rule should be the primary considerations. Also, spamming the forum with the same image is not allowed and is subject to banning. Avatar image size should not be greater than 90 pixels by 120 pixels, and no greater than 150k in size.

Now THIS is a guy used to driving in the fast lane, guys. He has a sleek black car in his avatar AND his sig. He doesn't have time for "bland" gaming websites - just their forums! He slowed his roll to ask, "yo, what's up in this bitch?" But I bet before we can answer, this smooth-as-fuck, pimped-out motherfucker will be peace out!!

I leave you with this as I get in it to go to work, I have no shame. People have asked me why I don't have a custom license plate that says Barney.

Most people seem to have some ability to deduce things based on obvious factors, I assume you haven't out of sheer laziness or simply because your simplistic question was a reason to start a thread where you could post pictures of your car. Maybe the messageboards are more involved because there are *gasp* MORE PEOPLE INVOLVED and because the way in which information is disseminated IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. The messageboard format allows for individual controlled posts and responses which create and sustain interest from a MUCH greater number of people who would otherwise be unable to be involved due to the very nature of a closed news site where participants are selected in some degree.

Now you can explain your "reason behind all of this"!
