What movies have you watched the most in your life?

My Cousin Vinny is probably #1. My dad has a VHS tape my brother taped off of HBO in the early 90s and ol' pops has watched it a LOT.

A League of Their Own. I don't own this movie but whenever I see it on cable I end up watching. I think I had a crush on Lori Petty as a kid :p

Gen X

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
I know I've seen Predator and T2 a tonne of times, but I would put the original Star Wars trilogy up there at around 300 times combined atleast (100 each film). When I was a kid I watched it for its awesomeness, now though,. each time I watch it I just appreciate the work that went into the SFX back when everything was done by hand.

Strangely enough, many of my favorite movies have been MST3Ked. And they were favorites before I knew of MST3K...

Hangar 18 - Gary Collins is an astronaut who is blamed for the death of a colleague when he is accident killed when a satellite they were launching strikes a UFO.

Also stars Darren McGavin as a NASA scientist, Stuart Pankin as a drunk, and Robert Vaughn as the villainous something or other, who orders the coverup of the UFO that crashed into the satellite.

It's a fascinating movie because you have the chase of Gary Collins across the country looking for clues to the UFO, being harassed by MIB, and at the same time, Darren McGavin's team of scientists unlock the mystery of the aliens...

The Crawling Eye - Forrest Tucker (the guy from F Troop) is a UN Investigator called in by a friend to investigate a problem in Trollenberg, a tiny town in the alps. It seems that local climbers are being beheaded mysteriously.

The story gets a bit convoluted, with two sisters who do a mind reading act (one of whom is both absolutely beautiful and a psychic) and reanimated dead people. But it's really something that could have been written by HP Lovecraft, only hurt by bad special effects.

Earth vs The Spider - Set in the 50s, a girl's father mysteriously vanishing while buying her a birthday present. She and her dopey boyfriend go looking for it, and come across a giant spider, which through the machinations of the local high school science teacher, runs amok in the town.

Not MST3Ked (but probably could be):

The Blob (both versions) - Original has Steve McQueen and a great depiction of teenage life in the 50s, 80s has Kevin Dillon and ditto for the 80s. Great special effects, too, by any standard. Also Shawnee Smith and the delectable Candy Clark.

The Thing (both versions) - Original isn't like the story much, but is probably the best B monster movie ever made. Snappy dialogue, good acting by a cast that can't act (as shown in all the other movies they did).

John Carpenter's version is a lot like the story, but updated to the 70s/80s and grimmer. Probably the best horror movie every made.

Amityville 3-D - Greatest haunted house movie ever. Sampled extensively by My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult. Also stars Candy Clark and middle aged Meg Ryan playing a teen ager.

The Resurrected - An adaption of HPL's The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. Very much a B movie, but really well done, including realistic gore (very gorey)

yep John Carpenter's The Thing is probably my favorite horror film of all time.

I checked out the original because Howard Hawks directed it and it's pretty entertaining.

Pretty common answers, but:

I watched them so much that it's pretty painful to rewatch them now, just now them too well :(

Newer films: Bourne Trilogy, Iron Man

Check out Carpenter's Halloween, another amazing horror film by him.

And The Fog and Prince of Darkness are underrated horror films by him as well.

Seen em my bro. One of my favorite directors of the 70s/80s for sure.

Fight Club - well over 50 times or so. Both in terms of study, research and just entertainment. I also own it in every media ever printed of it.

Blues Brothers - a lot. Not as much as the previous one, but a ridiculous amount nonetheless. I have owned five copies of DVDs for this movie. The last one I bought this spring.

Forrest Gump
Independence Day
Hott Fuzz
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

I probably watched Forrest Gump the most... it's a fine movie and all, but when I was at college there was something wrong with my tv and all I could watch was the School-sponsored channel and they played it 10 times a day, I used to just call it the Forrest Gump channel.

I try not to watch movies I like too often. My favorite film, Donnie Darko, I've only watched four times. When I was a kid I used to watch Star Wars and Lord of the Rings like six times a year, but I got sick of them and now I don't really enjoy them much anymore. I'm afraid that will happen to my current favorites if I watch them too much. Does anybody else feel the same way?

Anyway, my list would consist of things I used to love the shit out of as a kid, such as:

- Star Wars
- LOTR
- The Matrix (the first one)
- Austin Powers (one and two)
- Spider Man (first one)

Transformers 1 & 2

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Star Wars, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Aliens or Big Trouble in Little China. We had those movies on VHS when I was young and me and my sister watched them endlessly. Temple of Doom is probably the one I've seen the most.

Spielberg's 'Duel', definitely. It's a masterpiece and I never get tired of watching it.

You are right, awesome movie. It never gets old.

My top watched movie is The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. I've seen it hundreds of times and I can recite it line by line...kinda scary when I think about it.

I actually like Amityville II: The Possession the most in the series, although it could do without the
exorcism bit
.

As for The Resurrected, I disliked the changes they made
(the era, making Charles a married man, and the central character a private eye). The movie got better towards the end, but I found the last skeleton scene absolutely horrible.
Different strokes for different folks.

As far as straight Lovecraft adaptations go, I like The Call of Cthulhu the most. I think the black and white silent film direction was a perfect choice. Should hunt down their newest adaptation, The Whisperer in Darkness, which is made in film noir style.

I went through a phase when I was 14-15 when I watched Billy Madison every single night. I've probably seen it a hundred times. Don't judge me.
