What mutant in X-Men has the coolest/best powers?

When don't know the whole past story of Hickman's version of God Franklin.

He could have been an X-men. =D

Also the question is: What mutant in X-men has...

And Franklin clearly has been an X-men in a lot of stories.

And Franklin isn't even technically a mutant.

Lol...

Franklin is a mutant beyond Omega-Level[1][2] with vast reality-manipulating and psionic powers.

Franklin Richards was born in New York City. Franklin was born a mutant but since his mom was imbued with cosmic energy he started to exhibit his powers while still in the womb

Dude married Rachel Summers on three different alternate realities, has lead the X-men on the future, has been a part of Generation X after the Onslaught saga.

I think it's safe to say that he is eligible.

Wasn't there some kid (Xavier's?) that had reality alteration powers? That's in a completely different league compared to other powers, since it's only limited by your imagination.

As for actual members of X-Men... ehh, one of them dandy omega mutants I guess.

You mean magnetos kid; the scarlet witch.
Oh wait. Legion has reality warping powers as well.

Gambit's powers are cool but when he fights New Son its OP:

"Gambit was temporarily given the full strength and potential of his mutant abilities to battle his counterpart New Son.[volume & issue needed] At his full strength and power, Gambit can control all aspects of kinetic energy down even to the molecular level, allowing him to manipulate the potency of his bio-kinetic energy to burn, cause molecular discomfort, incinerate, create timed detonations (and manipulate the potency of the energy release), fire energy blasts, defy gravity, heal wounds, charge objects within his line of sight without contact, and effectively exist as an energy being.

Under such conditions, he holds sufficient power to cause another being to be unable to move—or unable to stop if in motion. He has been able to cause or simulate various energies by manipulating the kinetic energy present, such as infrared and microwaves, by increasing molecular agitation, or cold by reducing it. He was also able to use his powers to travel through time by transforming himself into living energy which joined with the kinetic flow.[volume & issue needed] Finally, Gambit was able to heal himself by stimulating his cellular activity.

These enhanced powers were burnt out after fighting New Son,[volume & issue needed] and Gambit has since returned to his original, somewhat lower power levels.[volume & issue needed]. However, after Sage jumpstarted his powers again, he was able to heal his blinded eyes[volume & issue needed]—thus implying he is again able to heal himself—and is also able again to charge living things with energy, as when he teamed up with Sebastian Shaw to destroy Mr. Sinister's machines.[volume & issue needed]"

wasn't Jean Grey one of the few mutants on the highest mutant level?

I like her

I like you.

Jean Grey has like, flashy psychic fire birds and cosmic ominous portent. She's my favorite.

Excluding Jean, though, Either Magneto or Cyclops for me. Power over metal is incredibly useful these days, and the power to shoot lasers from my eyes is classic.

Lol...

Oh please, Marvel fucks their own lore up so much it's not even worth talking about. I mean Marvel at one point had the Inhumans listed as mutants, as well as the kids from Avengers Academy despite them specifically saying they aren't mutants because while they were born with their powers and they didn't activate till puberty they don't possess the X-gene (just like Franklin...).

This is a moot point.

Dude is a mutant, he has the X-gene. Cosmic rays made him manifest still at the womb instead of manifesting at puberty.

Origins can be changed but for now he is still considered a mutant even by his own father. Call me when they retcon everything.

Marvel Comics consider him a mutant. He is labeled as a mutant on their official wiki.

He is eligible.

Always had a soft spot for Colossus damn cool might not be strongest but something about the metal skin is damn awesome imo
While in his armored form, Colossus requires no food, water, or even oxygen to sustain himself, and is extremely resistant to injury. He is capable of withstanding great impacts, large caliber bullets, falling from tremendous heights, electricity, and certain magical attacks. While he has great resistance to temperature extremes of hot and cold, extreme heat followed by rapid super-cooling has been shown to cause extreme damage. He is vulnerable to the anti-metal vibranium in his metal form, his body instinctively shifting to human form when faced with a vibranium weapon.

Also Sebastian Shaw has some cool powers. He absorbs energy including kinetic energy and becomes stronger, faster, more durable.

Bullets? Punches? I will just become stornger. I do like the fact that we have someone who can become stronger by hitting their head on the wall.

I'm not very clued up on X-Men outside of the main ones that people know (I know Nate Grey is supposed to be very powerful, but I know nothing about him), so my initial thought was "It's gotta be Magneto".

I forgot about Gambit, too. Didn't he have to have his powers limited? [Edit: I read a few posts up and got my answer]

Are the Iceman answers joke answers, or is he actually quite powerful?

franklin has been a mutant for decades, they havent fucked with that part of him ever.

he has the potential, but lacks the confidence

If I have the powers of Franklin Richards (he is not the one from the fantastic 4 right?) can I moved planets and entire galaxies in the sky so that the words "SUCK MY DICK att:Winterfang" can be seen in the skyline of the entire world every night?.

If so, then that guy.

He's not ? Good choice though. I like his power too.

In X-Factor Peter David revealed he was a Changeling (an earlier, but different, offshoot from homo sapiens), but it's been years since that, and I'd guess he's reverted back to a mutant in the meantime.

Franklin Richards could take down the original Superman in the blink of an eye (couldn't he?), so while he's the obvious answer it's not the most fun.

Grimace.. youve been in the bathroom all day!!!!

"Leave me alooonne!"(in womens voice transforming to male)

I bet u would....

Jean grey - best powers.

Nightcrawler would be fun.

Regardless of how I started out, I assure you if I had Mystique's power I would be some kind of super villain or criminal very quickly.

I loved Mimic. But he's not a mutant. (He was the first non-mutant to join the team). I guess his powers of mimicry are sort of a cheat.

My other favorite is Banshee. I love the idea of the sonic scream and being able to use it to fly.
(In his early appearances, he could also use his scream to hypnotize people.)

Storm's are better for flying. Plus she can summon lighting which just makes her look more badass.

Doesn't really count. Summoning lightning is like, a racial trait for blacks. We can all do it, but there are only so many lightning based superhero names that also remind the reader that we're black that we can come up with...

Anyway, I've always been partial to Rogue and Magneto's powers. I think, given total mastery of their powers, they are insanely powerful. Even at whatever their current power levels are, they are crazy. Gambit is another one that has a really great power that isn't utilized as fully as it could be.

Phoenix - Eats stars, is beyond death, beats up Galactus, has the added protection that if you killed me the universe would die and I'll simply be reborn.

Next is:

Magneto
Synch - Said to have omega potential. Could track any mutant over vast distances and recall any power he synched with.
Rogue
Gambit
Psylocke

for me it's Storm. She's my favorite Marvel character and love her variety of flashy as well as useful powers

Him and Banner are the only invulnerable characters who'd be capable of having sex, so they've got that going for them.

It's too easy to pick the most ultra-powerful mutants, so I'll stick with Storm. I'd be perched on my rooftop, watering my garden in my perpetual bubble of Spring time.

As for shape-hifting mutants, I was always under the impression that not only are they unable to mimic things like Wolverine's claws (because they would essentially be an actual portion of their body), but that their mass could not change, meaning that you couldn't morph into anything larger or smaller than you without having a noticeable size discrepancy. Well, at least for those that knew you well enough to recognize that you'd changed in stature.

I'm gonna be boring and generic with my answer but I'm gonna go with Wolverine.

1) doesn't age
2) regeneration

Seal the deal for me. Having blades as weapons is just an extra that comes with these tip tier powers.

Multiple Man is easily the answer here. It's so useful. He sent out dupes years ago to do things like learn different languages, law, fighting abilities, various medical degrees, etc. they come back-he re-absorbs them and he has all those memories and abilities now. He can even open any locked door by putting his hand under the door and creating a dupe on the other side.

He's never outnumbered or alone-Peter David has been coming up with creative uses for Jamie's powers now for over 20 years.

The only downside is when your dupes go bang other chicks when you're drunk.

Just think about the mechanics of it for a second. You're talking about people who aren't affected by the friction of being dragged under a train.
And Wolverine would be able to enjoy sex in a diminished capacity, but could never cum. Because of his healing factor every stroke would be like the first one.

Why couldn't he? It's not like an orgasm counts as damaging his body. If that was the case he couldn't even pee.
