What really old(normally purchasable) game can you recommend for us to play

Recently I'm enjoying some pretty old games, like Rage, old Tomb Rider's, Blue Dragon
Old here means something you feel it's old, but nothing after 2015 maybe, something you can easily purchase
edit: the thread is not recommendations for me, just in general - old games you recommend, preferably maybe 80, 90, 00 (no further than PS3 era)

Season 6 What GIF by The Office

I needed to switch my brain off for a while so I'm currently playing borderlands 2. It's easily available as part of "the handsome collection".

May play 3 after as got it at launch and never even got too far in it. On a trophy cleanup type of mood at the minute instead of playing any new games. My OCD is out of order.

pc release date was feb 2016 so ur call if it qualifies, but if u like hack and slash genre i strongly recommend it and its 2 expacks(3rd one coming likely in early/mid 2026).

Game isnt some blockbuster AAA but its all manually done, no proceduraly generated shit, u can feel dev team poured their souls into the product, their full passion. Easily 9/10 from me, u can see how positive steamreviews from users are (i reserve 10/10 for d1 and d2:lod).

You sound like against emulators, if it's not purchasable then it belongs to no one. I mean IDK, do something about it like buying novels or anything remotely close to the game you want to play like playing on series x when it's only available on the Xbox store. What matters is supporting these people. And if you could change peoples minds like Phil Spencer then make that game that you want available on Xbox. Or stream it on YouTube and from the number of views publishers will notice that and react accordingly.

Check out the original Resident Evil games and Dino Crisis games on GOG dot com.

Edit: Also Freedom Fighters, Heretic and Hexen, the John Woo game Stranglehold.

Began playing the OG Splinter Cell after finishing MGS Delta, bought it on Steam for cheap. While the AI has clearly aged the controls have surprisingly stood the test of time, I'm having a blast with all the options I've got to move around.
It's also making me afraid of that headline we got a while back from Ubisoft about them adapting the story for "modern audiences", I've seen nothing in this game's story so far that needs to be re-written due to being offensive or anything of the sorts.
Sounds to me like Ubisoft will fuck it up if the remake is ever released.

I'm confused by this definition of "old" and I'd like throw everything still absolutely playable and purchasable from 1998 and before to you.

How about the Nightdive-Versions of Turok (2), Forsaken and Shadow Man?
When you really think about it, it's 2025 and 360 is a very old fucking console

If you get a PlayStation plus premium subscription, there are old games you can play on there. They just recently added OG Resident Evil 2 and 3. I came.

Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Dead Rising 1/3, Dead Space 2, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition.

P.S. It is hard to go back too far as most are not available on recent systems.

Something I feel is old…is way older than 2015 my friend…I'm ancient 😂

BL2 is hands down one of the best fps games ever made. Most likely my #1 ranked looter shooter. Game is just so solid all around, and it's hard to find any glaring flaws with it. I am cautiously optimistic for BL4 in about a week and a half.

Ninja Gaiden Black, play it on a Series X.
and after that get Ninja Gaiden 2... not black, the original... unless you want eye cancer, then you can play Black I guess.

The thing is.. I know. And that's the problem ..
Don't think about things as your age, I'm 36 and don't fucking feel age at all, like not important thing to think about. This fucking demonic shit the Last Times are actively going through to it's end (that's an important thing). I'm so glad that gaming is a thing and can talk to the fellow gamers here. Playing Rage now, and for a 360 game it looks like something from the late PS4 timeframe (if it ran on One X or PS4), those vistas, all those views when you look across the map - it just reminds me of the Holy Trinity, and it's fucking great

Some old games that never get, um, old for me:

Wave Race 64
Super Marioland 2
Crazy Taxi 2
Shinobi (arcade version)
Final Fight (first game)
Early Final Fantasy games - pick up the 1-6 collection
Age of Empires 2
Original Ace Attorney trilogy
RC Pro Am - available on Rare Replay and soon on Rare Evercade
Sega Rally

Give OG Deus Ex as well as Thief 1 and 2 a shot. These are some truly excellent games. Especially Deus Ex is amazing and there are some mods you could use for graphics and some QoL.

Also, Baldur's Gate 1&2 (Enhanced Edition or OG) are still excellent (once again, there are some mods). It's similar for NWN1 and Icewind Dale games.

And Fallout 1 & 2 are a must play, IMO. There is a mod for 1 that will allow it to be played on Fallout 2 Engine and there are some good mods for both games to help with bugs, running on modern machines, etc…

Edit: For some old school JRPG goodness, Grandia, Suikoden and Lunar collections, Dragon Quest 3, and Star Ocean 1&2 (especially 2) are great.

Edit 2: Morrowind is Bethesda's best game and there is an open source engine and great mods for it on PC side. Highly recommended.

Definitely worth a try, especially if you are into fps and/or looters. Also a really fun time in co-op if you have anyone to play with. You can play split screen local, online co-op, or a combo of both. The great thing is you can run everything solo as well, if you like that more.
This makes me consider to subscribe to Series X online features

You are just asking for old games which leaves many options to pick from, so here are some of my all time favorites:

Zelda Ocarina of Time
Metal Gear Rising
Dragon's Dogma
DOOM (1993)

I mean in reality there are so many excellent games that are still great today from around say 1990 to 2013 that OP could play games 8 hours a day for next 20 years and still not run out! 😅

And that's even if we only count what's available on modern platforms without outside emulation.
