What really old(normally purchasable) game can you recommend for us to play

Bangers:
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black
Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty
Diablo 2 Resurrected
Onimusha 2
Resident Evil 2 Remake

The 5 holy lords of 2. Praise be.

Some less discussed classics:

World in Conflict - Tactical RTS about a Russian invasion of America. Great levels and surprisingly good story.

SpaceChem - Puzzle/logic game that will make you feel like either a genius or an idiot. Part of a series of such games.

Alien vs Predator - Amazing single player campaigns each as Marines, Alien, and Predator. Also had three way multiplayer which was insane and maybe still not replicated anywhere. Not sure if the sequel is readily available, but it's great too.

Put Portal 2 on your list if you haven't. Also the original for that matter.

Totally worth playing too. That game fails to run on 16 core CPUs so play it while you still can.

It also had the greatest game trailer ever made.

My personal favorite indie game of all time. Wildly imaginative and charming 2D action adventure platformer with Metroidvania elements and an unforgettable soundtrack. Best played on a handheld. Available on Steam and NSW as Cave Story+.

Easy rec for tower defense fans. Also available on Xbox (360) but best played on PC. There's even story DLC that features GLaDOS from Portal.

Don't think about things as your age, I'm 36 and don't fucking feel age at all, like not important thing to think about. This fucking demonic shit the Last Times are actively going through to it's end (that's an important thing). I'm so glad that gaming is a thing and can talk to the fellow gamers here. Playing Rage now, and for a 360 game it looks like something from the late PS4 timeframe (if it ran on One X or PS4), those vistas, all those views when you look across the map - it just reminds me of the Holy Trinity, and it's fucking great
Same age as you, PS3 trilogies sounds perfect since they lasted till year 2013.
PS3 Trilogies

Most of the MegaDrive games in the NSO or the Collection released on PS4OneSwitch. Pretty shit collection though in terms of emulation and features.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 has great games as well. Project Justice is excellent.

Resident Evil 2 Remake
You've been sniffing too much arse crack, that ain't old mate

But since you mentioned it

Classic RE games, if you aren't somehow incapable of playing a game with tank controls, are excellent. Forget all the remakes, true RE1 is unique and well worth your time. It gets overshadowed by the remake with a completely different look, feel, and tone. And that's a shame.

it requires a fan made patch however, it is one of the best RPG experiences ever created and still holds up now. It's a true RPG, something we rarely get anymore.
It's a favourite here on GAF for sure , but in the real world very few people have played it or even heard of it. I would imagine you fit into that category since you made this thread.

This is an excellent recommendation and one of the most immersive ROGs of its kind.

Ubisoft and Massive actually fixed it on Uplay a few years ago, and made the MP open source. I'm pretty sure there is a fan patch that disables cores when you launch the game for places like GOG.

EDIT: Also the game is free on www.massgate.org/cdkeys according to the launcher

Thanks a whole bunch. I only bought my CPU last year and couldn't get it working at the time with the Steam version. Googling around, it seems that the patch might simply be incompatible with the game on Steam.

pc release date was feb 2016 so ur call if it qualifies, but if u like hack and slash genre i strongly recommend it and its 2 expacks(3rd one coming likely in early/mid 2026).

Game isnt some blockbuster AAA but its all manually done, no proceduraly generated shit, u can feel dev team poured their souls into the product, their full passion. Easily 9/10 from me, u can see how positive steamreviews from users are (i reserve 10/10 for d1 and d2:lod).
reminded me that I picked this up in a steam sale and have yet to get stuff to it.
