What the hell does R* have to hide?

So we are less than a month out and R* hasnt shown one fucking screen for Midnight Club 3 for the PSP. Sucks.

I'm thinking the game is a piece of shit and it will float into stores without being reviewed or previewed. I mean its not like they are saving it for E3.

I'd worry a lot more if this wasn't R* They have a very haphazard policy about releasing game info. I think it's usually slim to none.

I'll be dissapointed if it stinks as well.

MLB does rock.

Who knows. EBgames even has a trade in promotion for it (trade 1 game towards GTA PSP for $10)

:lol

There's only been two games released since launch (which, incidentally was less than 3 week ago ;) )

MLB 2006 as listed above and Mercury

Yeah, the PSP launched LESS than a month ago and launched with a good number of worthwhile games. More good games would be excellent, of course, but I'm willing to let it slide since what I have is already top notch. I just wish there were more releases coming out in the summer months. :( Maybe E3 will reveal some surprise releases. That'd be nice to see!

Meanwhile, I'll probably pick up HSG, Midnight Club 3 (if its good), and GTA (if its actually coming up). Might also look into getting TM and Darkstalkers if I kind find good deals on them. Smart Bomb is also coming out soon, isn't it? There isn't much buzz around it, but if its a challenging enough puzzle game, it could be worth it. Seems to have some interesting mechanics.

And I still want Mozipittan. :( Its so expensive online! For what amounts to Japanese Scrabble, I'd expect it to be selling for ~$20-30 equivalent in Japan, but no such luck.

Here in Quebec it's even worse. Ignition didn't bother respecting language laws and Mercury can't be sold here. ;(

It's the release dates that are bullshit. GTA and MC and this and that are all later than stores say - they just keep nearer dates so that they get pre-orders in this launch timeframe, and since there's no official date or word from the companies, they can ballpark and maybe be wrong, maybe be right, maybe be close to right, maybe not.

Ok I'm not sure if we're all on the same frequency here but I think those shots look like SHIT. I even downloaded the trailer to see if it looked better in motion but all I saw were mediocre car models with flashy textures which caused a strong contrast against the low-resolution dark blurry textures on the actual roads and enviroments themselves. Am I missing something here because I think this game looks really bad and I'm kinda worried about GTA PSP now. :(

Well those pics and vids are basically the same as MC3, so if you're basing GTA's graphics on that then as long as the current games don't bother you graphically then the PSP version shouldn't.

MC3 PSP looks pretty decent, Axel Impact, whether it plays well or not, still seems to be the best looking PSP racer shown so far

I think the problem is I've never actually paid attention to what Midnight Club looks like. The series doesn't interest me and I was commenting based on how I felt the game looked. Compared Tokyo Highway Battle, Ridge Racers, even Twisted Metal Head On, those pics and that video looks like crap to me imo. :(

Yah it's certainly not up to par with those games you mentioned, but the console versions also aren't up to par with the console versions of each of those titles you mentioned. So I really wouldn't worry about it, Rockstar really isn't all that hot when it comes to graphics. The main draw of MC3 is its online play (has this been confirmed for the PSP version) and its customization that shames basically every other game out there.

Oh ok, thanks for clarifying. I guess that's good news then. :D

Those car models in MC3 are actually very nice. They are higher poly than Ridge Racers and offer higher resolution reflections while taking place in a very large city area along with traffic.

We'll probably see gta Psp in May at e3, but I hope to see GT 4 mobile for PSP at e3 too.

Any news one that?

I'll be surprised if we either... I'll REALLY be surprised if we see both.

It's been delayed. It was a newsarticle on that a week ago or so.

Re:GTA PSP

Link? (I just haven't heard anything on a release date, just speculation by retailers on websites and Take-Two saying it was a Q3 release for them (May-July) )

I don't remember, I think it was eurogamer who said it would be delayed, but still released in summer. (wario said it would come next month which wont happen)

EDIT: I was wrong, it's still set for Q3. (May -july)

Actually, keeping the original intention in mind, it's from what I hear, not for what I hear.

GT Mobile will be playable at this year's show.

I think i speak for all of GAF, when i say we should all just cave in under this terrible psp game drought and buy/trade in for, a GIZMONDO!

I wouldn't bet on GTA PSP being there. R* has never shown off a GTA at E3, always keeping it under wraps for some strange reason. They showed picts of SA before, VC was just a few weeks after. Even though it's summer for PSP, I wouldn't stake my life on playing it at the show.

This idiocy could go on forever.
