I would drink this womans bath water with a straw 😍

Did not watched the show, but from the various trailers i saw from the show, Dragon Age was the worst. It scream "game for modern audience". Would love to be proved wrong by the actual game, as im a fan of Dragon Age and even enjoyed Inquisition.

Knowing how much effort game devs put into their games, I will not point fingers and say "this is the worst among them." I won't do that even for the Dragon Age game they showed.

The thing that disappointed most was still the emphasis on CG/pre-rendered stuff for games that were announced 4+ years ago.

The showcase was essentially Bethesda + 3rd-parties showing off actual gameplay and the traditional Xbox studios doing the usual smoke and mirrors.

* South of Midnight has a fantastic art-style, but the frame-timing (I know it's deliberate stop motion) was getting to me by the end of the demo
* Gears - well it looked pretty but we'll see what they have to cut to actually make a game look like that (at a decent framerate)
* Avowed - still not seen enough to show it's an actual RPG and not some cut-down action game with a couple of minor choices
* SoD3 - CGI
* Perfect Dark - screamed vertical slice for E3, not a real game
* Fable - CGI (if there was gameplay it was well hidden in that trailer - I think there was a tiny bit where the character walks up to a quest giver/NPC)

It was well structured, energetic, well paced, well produced (which is more than I can say of Geoff's showcase) - it was worth watching, but there are so many caveats around what was actually shown.

Biggest surprise was the turn-based 33 expedition game - looked fantastic and a great reveal - well done MS for snagging that one.

A B- of a showcase - best of the summer

Like, Life is Strange and South of Midnight seemed very meh....

But man, I just hope that Dragon Age Gameplay knocks it Babe Ruth styles out the park......or Thedas will truly burn into the fade :(

I don't know if I would call them worst, but by far the least interesting: Mecha Break and Wuchong. DA trailer sucked but I'm pretty sure the game itself will be just fine.

Dragon Age for sure.

What were they thinking.

If they were trying to make something as unappealing as possible, they succeeded.

Dragon Age for sure, and i say it as a person who loved DA:I and played it at launch back in 2014 on my ps4, this trailer at least looked like fortnite/overwatch 5vs5 multiplayer shooter trailer, not single player rpg trailer, whole colour pallet and cringe/trying to be funny setting/stylisation was huge miss.

Dunno if actuall game gonna be a bust, but so far, w/o seeing gameplay, but only that cringy trailer meant for kids/teenagers, it looks super underwhelming :(

I think DA is going to be a trainwreck of proportions comparable to Suicide Squad considering they are not showing any gameplay whatsoever when the release date is this fall.

I expect some live service MP game hastily retooled into a more traditional RPG but with everything (characters, story, gameplay) still showing the first plan.

This might be the final nail in the BioWare coffin.

There is only one "winner" here. I don't know what EA and BioWare were thinking when they were working on that abomination

That little mouse game hasn't even gotten a thread on Neogaf. I think that was probly the worst game as nobody talked about it and forgot about it.
If anyone wants to make a thread here is a link.

That was the only game shown which I had literally zero interest in. Everything else at least looked intriguing imo. Even that mech game looked pretty beautiful - at least on the stream, anyway, I've not re-watched in higher quality.

I'm not gonna say something like "Mixtape" cause that game was never intended for someone like me.

So it hurst me to say this, but for me it was Dragon Age Veilguard.
As a long time DA fan that looked pretty awful.
I feel like it's becoming a thing now, where all these studios are chasing the "modern audience" by changing existing game series style and themes to appeal to the teens who are more into mobile games than anything.
And us 30+ year old gamers are left in the dust. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm starting to see that more and more these days.

Whoever voted Doom I suggest you seek mental help, your wired up wrong my brothers.

Indiana Jones is lucky thst Dragon Age game featureing Just stop oil type characters was there. I love Machine Games and what they have done with Wolfenstein but I dont have intrest in Indian Jones and even if I did the game looks a bit bland to me, still gamepass 💪💪💪 so il give it ago.

FragPunk looks so amazing and original, cant wait for Topher Topher To start a Neogaf clan up, get us on a strict training programe to train and lead us to MLG glory 💪💪💪.

Didn't watched all the trailers but probably one between life is cringe or the super fake john dark next game.

South of midnight looks interesting but i fucking hate that missing frames shit from spiderverse movies, games should not have that crap (nor movies if you ask me, it's super disturbing)

All games that didn't show actual gameplay (it's 2024, enough with the CGI trailers, and yes that goes for Gears also, especially so for them because we know how great their tech/games look)

Dragon Age was probably the worst, but I voted South of Midnight because it had actual gameplay and its bizarre stop motion-like framerate was extremely jarring.

Well....looks like Dragon Age will win this, but even that game looks like it will be good. May not look or play like DA: Inquisition, but I doubt it will be a turd.

Sometimes I wonder how a trailer like the one for dragon age gets made. Who is the director who came up with the idea; do they not know their audience? it really just makes no sense.

Dragon Age was just depressing was watch. From BG, Neverwinter, Kotor, Mass Effect etc to.. whatever that was.

I am sorry to say this but: Dragon Age

The trailer felt like a something you'd see for a hero shooter. Tone felt off, the art style felt off. If it hadn't been for Harding and Varric (and saying "Dragon Age" at the end), I wouldn't have guessed that it's a Dragon Age game.

In general I would say Dragon Age, looks about as awful as expected.

From the game that showed gameplay that indie about the Mouse. I have nothing against indie game but that just looked boring AF.
