A friend whats to try WoW but is getting only 7fps with his Geforce 3 Ti 500. He is saving to upgrade in late fall 2006. I told him he should get a temporary video card but is limited by an older motherboard that is AGPX4. He has 2.35ghz and 1 gig 1066 RDRAM so its not ungodly slow.
You think a GeForce FX 5200 256MB AGP or Radeon 9250GE 256MB AGP for $50 would be the best bet? Only ones I can remember that would not be overkill or too much $ for just one year usage. I figure with holidays coming up if these are still stocked they might even be loss leaders for CC or BB, etc.
