What Would You Give Up: TV, Cell or Web?

never heard about the cat, apparently
There is a interesting poll on Reader's Digest.com asking if you had to give up one of those three, which would it be? (LINK) TV is the obvious choice for me considering I can watch everything I want on the Internet.

Anyway here are the results:
In our latest global survey, 11 of 15 countries say they'd turn off the TV before they'd silence their cell phone or log off the Internet. Women, especially, will forgo their favorite shows. Younger respondents are more likely to take a pass on television, but older folks don't necessarily shun the online experience. In Singapore, not a single person over 45 voted to stop surfing.

TV's gone. No doubt about it.

And even if all forms of streaming television aren't allowed the choice still isn't that hard for me.

TV, Cell, the internet. I don't use my cellphone much, but I have had my car break down in the middle no where with out one on me. Never again if I can help it.

I hear ya, but if you had OnStar, would you ditch the phone then?

TV, Cell and then internet... TV is going down hill. I haven't watched much tv at all this summer. With Hulu etc... I feel like I'm throwing money away. As for the cell, I have a prepaid...

tv in a heartbeat. i don't even watch it.

but between cell or web id prob give up cell but fuck i love my cellphone.

I'd lose over both the cell and the tv before the web. I can use the internetz to watch TV AND keep in touch with people.

When we say TV, does that mean no internet TV as well?

Because if so, then cell first, then TV, then internet.

Otherwise, I've already cut out TV from my life.

Seeing how my TV pretty much sucks and the fact that I play almost no console video games anymore, it wouldn't bother me too much to see it go.

I consider Internet a part of my body.

Definitely the TV. I rarely watch it as it is. Anything I do usually watch (Lost) I can watch online. I don't think I would ever give up the web. Cell I could do without, even though it would probably be pretty damn hard.

Depends on what is meant by "TV".

If you mean I can't watch over the air or cable, fine. I do that right now.

If it means I can't watch DVDs or play videogames, then HELL NO!

My rankings:
Internet-Can't live without
Cell-Hate it but necessary evil
TV-fuck it except for DVDs, videogames, and very occasional shows.

Damn . . . looking at those rankings has given me some faith in humanity.

People love the internet more than TV. That is awesome!
Of course they are probably all just watching porn.

Cell phone is first, and by a wide margin. Canadian cell phone services, choices, prices, val--... well, everything, is complete shit.

hmm. it seems like a cheat to say that you'll watch TV shows on your computer.

i took the question to implicitly suggest that you're giving up the content, moreso than the box.

anyway, i pick cell phone. i don't NEED to be contacted everywhere all that often and i would hate not to be able to watch great shows like Lost, Wire, West Wing, Simpsons, Seinfeld, etc, etc, etc that were borne on TV.

Cell phone. I hate them. I never use mine. The only reason I have it is because I have to drive almost two hours each way to school and my parents wanted me to get one in case something happened on the drive.

Cell, seeing as I don't own one now anyways. Second would be TV, as long as I could stream shows via the web, and giving up TV didn't involve not being able to use a TV to play videogames and stuff.

If I had to give up just one, it would be web.

I really only use the web at work to pass the time.

Couldn't live without my mobile, and I watch WAY too much TV to giva that up.

I think you are missing the point.. The idea is not about not having a television, it is about the content you are giving up a chance to watch. By giving up TV you give up on watching the shows - you wont be able to view them online as well.

That would be like saying "Oh, internet, easy! I will just use my iPhone to be online instead *gnarly laugh*"

I would easily give up my cell phone. It would be annoying to coordinate stuff with people once I'm not near a regular phone, but fuck it, I need my cable and internet.

Well I don't watch TV much anyway. But I do watch a lot of baseball, but that is on the internet considering they don't show all the games on TV where I am.

TV < Internet <<< Cell Phone.

I'd rather die than give up my cell phone.

That's not stated clearly in the actual poll. There's no qualifiers of any kind in the question.
