I like what I've heard so far. There is some wicked drumming on this album. It's another 2-piece band, but this one writes some neat little pop tunes. Quite nice.

It's not as challenging or crazy as their debut, but this is still really damn good, catchy, and rockin'. There is definitely more pop in here than the previous record, but it's great pop and I think the album is more consistent as a whole. I love it more and more with each listen. This is the greatest band to come out of Britain in quite a while IMO. They're my favourite rock act at the moment.

Otherwise, I recently "attained" the following and need to give them fair attention:

The Decemberists - Picaresque
Great Lake Swimmers - Self-titled
Yo La Tengo - And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out AND I Can Hear the Heart Beating As One
Kaiser Chiefs - Employment
The Wrens - The Meadowlands
Sufjan Stevens - Greetings From Michigan: The Great Lakes State

Trying to get the new Okkervil River as well. So much music. I think I need to slow down and give all of these albums their deserved attention.

Does Ivy sound anything like Fountains of Wayne?

No--it's basically guitar and drums with a little bit of keyboard and some trip-hop beats, and a female lead singer who coos and whispers the lyrics with a French accent. The songs range in tone from almost cheerful to so melancholy that you'll want to put a bullet in your mouth.
