Black Dynamite the animated show was a mixed bag for me with it leaning towards more the positive side. It had flaws but I think the animated show was the way to go instead of a sequel. I did love those That Frog Kurtis episodes. JB Smoove killed it.

Can't see how Black Jesus would return without Charlie Murphy. He was a great antagonist on the show.

I actually don't think we need a Black Dynamite 2. The first movie hit all its marks and accomplished everything it set out to do. I laughed so hard at the Richard Nixon bossfight.

I sometimes wonder if Aaron MacGruder while brilliant is also maybe a bit hard to work with especially on the long term. Though Charlie Murphy being ill might have had to do with that as well in terms of Black Jesus.

Black Dynamite was one of those perfect movies that didn't need a sequel. But just like I said in the Austin Powers 4 thread, I'll gladly take one if they can make it not feel forced/find enough new ground for it to not be a retread.

Yup. Without warning, too, apparently. The show was still getting 1 mil views per night despite having a Saturday Night Death Slot (10 PM), while reruns of some forgettable FX cartoon got the Sunday Night slot they usually reserve for new episodes of Venture Bros. or Rick & Morty.

I was always baffled as to why they wanted Season 2 to fail, but in retrospect this was the network responsible for that Neo-Nazi Sketch Comedy...
