What's stopping Sony from releasing older PS4 games on PC outside of investment of money?

I mean there are the Infamous games. WipeOut Omega Collection, Killzone Shadowfall, Uncharted Collection, Tearaway and other GOATS like KNACK.

Is there like a forecast of how much money a game can make that some are released on PC and some aren't? I'm sure people are alight with 1 to 1 ports?

We all know Bloodborne will have the PS6 remake, you ain't getting it yet.

It would be great if we got proper PC ports of OG Demons Souls, Uncharted collection and Infamous 1 & 2. Would love a remaster of Puppeteer and Folklore, but both of those studios are gone so might not happen. If Sony doesn't outsource it but they don't seem to care about their old legacy outside God of War and maybe Sly and Ratchet and Clank.

EDIT: Ah shit, read PS3 and not PS4. But yeah, point still stands, Sony doesn't give a fuck about their old library

Didn't Sony blockbuster games do kind of poorly on PC? Imagine how much more poorly these older games would do.

If they wanted to release those games to modern standards on PC, they may as well do PS5 remasters at the same time. Which is more effort and more bandwidth across development and publishing which may or may not be available.

People forget that to business, the IP is where the value is, as that can then be used to drive new opportunities across different sorts of media. So just burning through the back-catalog as fast as possible in search of short-term uptick, isn't maximizing value of those resources.

I mean porting games is cheap but who the fuck would want to play any of these nowadays?

Bloodborne, Demon's Souls, GT7, sure why not, but i don't see any potential market for these ones you named.

All of those would do even worse than the paltry sums their major ports have scraped together. As far as I'm concerned, they've already spent too much time not just porting, but remastering. The last thing they need to do is dig through all that again.

I feel like Sony wants to forget about a bunch of those franchises mentioned. So even a remaster collection on PS5 isn't happening.

The answer is simple for Sony:

REMASTERED VERSIONS!!!!

They're probably thinking how get more money from both console and PC players with minimum effort "remastered" versions.

I think games like Demon's Souls, GT7 or Astro Bot are the most anticipated ports for PC users...

...except for Bloodborne lol

There's plenty of PS3 & PS4 era games that would do well with a remaster, nothing crazy, just up the resolution/framerate & add Dualsense support, on PS5 & PC.
Infamous, Killzone, The Order: 1886, Ratchet and Clank + every PS3 game in the series , Bloodborne, Uncharted Trilogy,

But I think Sony considers the games to old and in the case of Driveclub there's license considerations.

There's always forecasts - the thing with these pitches is return on investment - and the math is never as simple as 'is it profitable' - it's an issue of scales.
Eg. I remember how EA used to review Mobile games back before mobile actually became big - while there was a clear path to profitability, the numbers were simply too low to spend any attention on vs. the big stuff they could invest into instead.
I've also seen bigger companies do this with acquisitions - shutting down already profitable services(single digit milions) because - (and I quote) the numbers were like a rounding error.

We all know Bloodborne will have the PS6 remake, you ain't getting it yet.
