The only reason I left IGN and came to GAF is because only one thread is allowed per game. I got tired of having the front page of IGN filled up with 20 threads about the same game every time a decent game came out. One thread per game makes it much easier to have conversations and get information.

Yeah, fuck yeah. That's a great feature of this place.

Yup. Vanilla GAF looks so old school now, I don't like it. But PM's are a little funky on m.gaf, so I need to use vanilla from time to time. Also, you can't search for post histories on m.gaf either.

I love how almost every time I come to NeoGAF, there's something new to read. The place isn't filled with much stupidity like on so many other websites. It's like I have fulfilling and meaningful conversations while having those few people who post funny replies delights me as well. And good humor, not trolling or mean. If I might expand a bit, it's the sheer variety of conversations you can end up in, and at least have a stab at contributing to. It's a bit like a crowded but not over-noisy bar where you wander around and find a bunch of interesting people to talk to, or at least a bunch of people who are interested in listening to you, or at least some interesting people. Well, people anyway. I think.

The enjoyment I get from reading sophisticated comments from people intensely invested in something with the detachement of not having to hear the annoying and unappealing ways they probably say it in real life. I can enjoy discussions in here that I would most definitely leave if it weren't for the convenience of reading whatever I please into what people say & how they say it.

Anyway, what i just wrote was supremely nerdy, but you can choose what you want to get out of it.
Basically I enjoy the nerdiness without the ugliness I perceive in people because of my (somewhat vain) discrimination. On Gaf I rarely judge people, I usually listen to the core sentiment of their opinion rather than get attached to the specific way they say it.

I didn't really set out to expose my pride and snobbery with this comment but guess I just did. That was kind of ugly. Anyway I love Gaf.
