What's the story behind your current avatar?

I saw a movie so surreal, it captivated me on levels I could never have expected.

The Defender. It's a Canadian film board movie, free on YouTube.

This is one of their parents. His existence amuses me.

It's previously been Charles from penny arcade, and the House Atredies mentat from Dune 2.

Mine's Hamada from Downtown (i.e. Gaki no Tsukai, Gottsu ee Kanji, Lincoln), if you don't recognize him. I've changed my ava a few times, but so far it's always been Hamada. Maybe I'll try something different someday.

These are previous ones:

That story and your words just made me feel so sad.

A late reply...sorry.
But I'm sorry it made you feel sad though.
It's just how it is in my life and I get used to never finding my own peace that I get indifferent sometimes when I vent out my feelings.

Just the way it is I suppose.

Apologies.

Mine is of Lone Wolf and Cub, a classic Manga title originating in the 70s. It's based in the Japan feudal era, and I highly recommend if you enjoy Samurai epics.

I've always loved the artwork so I chose it. Nothing too symbolic.

I love Lone Wolf and Cub.

As for mine. Steve McQueen, the king of cool.

I started using Saoirse Ronan avatars a little over three years ago. This is #282; the source is the Paris premiere of The Way Back. At some point I started changing my avatar on a weekly basis, so I'll have a different one in a couple of days.

Edit: Well, I changed it sooner than planned. I have a "rule" that if a new photo surfaces and it makes for a good avatar, I switch to it regardless of how long I've been using my then-current one. This avatar is from her recent interview with Wonderland magazine.

Honestly, I'm not sure why I chose this avatar in particular. I know that I always wanted to keep the same one to try to maintain a standard identity but I'm not sure why I settled on this as "the one". I guess I just want to spread the love for BC: Rearmed.

Now I noticed it looks kind of pixelated so I have to go find a better quality image.

I drew mine out of boredom one day. I thought it was cute, so I used it. I've been meaning to animate the idea one day, just haven't got around to it.

Japanese music man, specifically the singer YUI.

But anyways couple months back I've decided to switch up to using actual people rather than anime avatars.

Fanart of a Naruto character (Genma, for those familiar with the series). Found some amazing fanart a couple weeks ago and went straight for this guy. Really minor character who I've always really liked, so I was glad to see quality artwork of him.

It's from promo pic for Constantine show. I wanted a new avatar and this one seemed perfect. I love Hellblazer comics and the show is done by somebody who did by favorite bits of tv of all time (Dexter S1-4), so yeah...I'm hyped :D Seemed like good reasons to do the avatar change.

I like the opposites of Red vs Blue. I also like 3D space, not films or cinema in 3D, but the 3rd dimension. I like that games pretty much exist in 2 dimensions and a perceived 3rd dimension. I'm excited for an Augmented Reality 3rd dimension.

I like Ying & Yang but rather than see it as black and white I see it as red and blue.

I don't see good and evil, or light and dark. I see red and blue. Player 1 and Player 2.

It's Miley Cyrus in a unicorn 1Z

I like Miley. I change my avatar to whatever picture of hers I like at the time. It's always Miley.

As much as I love batman the animated series, I completely fell in love with batman beyond. Connected with it completely. So Batman beyond.

The 3d glasses are because of Doctor Who.

I had Nonspecific Action Figure as my avatar for a while. When EVO came around this year I wanted a Q-related avatar in honor of him going so I took the image of NSAF and an image of Q (from Third Strike) and fucked around in GIMP for 30 minutes and ended up with this, which doesn't really resemble Q or Nonspecific Action Figure anymore. I should probably change it but I'm lazy and can't decide on anything good.

A friend of mine showed me the works of Ed Fairburn, who draws portraits over city maps, and this image was by far my favourite.
