What's your favorite pizza chain?

Papa Johns gets so much hate but out of all the big dogs, I think it really is better than Dominos or Pizza Hut. The garlic sauce really sets it above for me.

What is your favorite?

Dieci, but I guess this is unfair because they are real Italians and we are neighboring Italy, so we get the real deal.

I like Papa Johns best as well.
Its very flavorful and too many other pizza places taste bland in comparison.

In terms of the the big chains:

Top
Roundtable
Dominos
Papa Johns
Little Caesar's
Pizza Hut
Bottom

Girodano's is better than all though

Im not from the USA but most of our big Pizza chains are American.
Of the ones we have I'd say it's Papa Johns >> Pizza Hut >>>>> Domino's.

Papa Johns is pretty decent. It's very greasy and has a sort of distinct flavor but it's overall pretty good. And yeah I like the sauce.
Pizza Hut was great like 15-20 years ago, it actually started out more like a Pizza Restaurant than a fast food joint here. But over the years they've definitely gone the fast food route and it's just not the same anymore.
Domino's has always been bland here.

(there's also Telepizza from Spain which is crap but also really cheap, and Pizza Pizza which I think is Canadian which is slightly better though still pretty bad and also cheap)

I like Papa John's crust the best and the garlic butter is nice but I think the big three are all in the same camp of trashy fast food. Dominoes just has the benefit of being much less expensive.

Shit pizza chains where I live, so no point bringing it up, but I've been to this place called Buddy's Pizza in Detroit. Best pizza I've had. Thick slices in rectangular pan sizes.

Never had Papa John's but there's many in the city here. Looking at pictures, they look crap like Domino's budget pizza you can grab on deal for $8. I'm not paying $20 for a large PJ pizza.

Maybe looks are deceiving.

I would rather eat Red Barron or Totinos frozen pizzas than the chains.
As crazy as it seems, I bought a 4 pack of Kirkland Signature rising crust pepperoni pizza from Costco years back. I think it was $15 (cdn).

I'd put those frozen pizzas up against any fast food pizza chain pepperoni pizza.

There's a chain in Australia called Eat Pizza.. i dunno if every one is as good as the franchise i had next to my old student lodging.. but Jesus that place was incredible. Freshly made pizzas, on a rolling grill, just laden with ingredients.. assembled below your very eyes.. happy to modify their pizzas to my requests... Want a fistful of parmesan and a dose of garlic mash on your extra long cooked pepperoni? With a coke? And a motherfucking home made chocolate moose to follow? Or maybe a home made lasagna slab? Get fuuucked what an all-time leading store. Perhaps the One thing i miss living in Japan is Pizza like that.

Chain? Dominos but only if I'm getting their best pizza. (pan) It used to be Pizza Hut 20 years ago though.

I live in New York so just shoot me instead of making me answer this question. I lived above a dominos for a year and never ordered from it.

Being on west coast in Oregon, My city pretty much only has pizza chains. Papa johns is only good when they had their cheeseburger pizza. Dat pickle and special sauce flavor was pretty damn good. Other then that dominos crushes the rest. The actual crust tastes like garlic bread and they use huge pieces of bacon when I get pepperoni, bacon, (my go to for a two topping) . Also their jalapeño bacon cheese bread isn't bad. Their delivery price is fucking ridiculous though so I get it maybe once a year anymore, 6 fucking bucks to deliver? Absurd.

That all being said I've been to Chicago and New York and know what real pizza tastes like. I generally get pizzas shipped from those areas to cook in my oven over any pizza chain now.

I think we don't have Pizza chains anymore here in Germany except a few Pizza Huts restaurant that remained.
And their pizza slices are god's food when you are drunk and wasted, but literally uneatable when not.

What a mystery.

Who would have thought this thread would have been hijacked by the pizza elitists?

Anywho, as far as a chain, I'd go Papa Johns. The garlic sauce is iconic. Marcos is also pretty good.

I don't really enjoy the big Pizza chains very much. If I had to pick I'd probably say Pizza Hut because I really have enjoyed their all you can eat buffet before.

I think the local takeaway places are much better for pizza generally. I'll always order from somewhere local. It's cheaper, and usually tastes a lot nicer. Places like Dominos are not very nice in the UK in my opinion, and really expensive.

Dominos

Used to be Pizza Hut back in the day. Their pan pizza used to be god tier, but like everything, quality went way down. Now they're disgusting and I'll flip over the table if someone brought that into my home. Respectfully.

But local pizza places own them all.

only pizza i've ate is cheap supermarket stuff or from my local indian/british take away resteraunt. never ordered from dominoes, papajohns, pizzahut.

seriously i don't understand the obsession with it. yeah i enjoy eating pizza but it's not as good as people make it out to be. people get too snobbish or elitist about it. it's just a fucking pizza.

Supermarket frozen pizza gets hate, but it's honestly not bad over here in the UK. Asda makes some very nice pizzas, good selection of toppings and very tasty. I'd honestly rather eat it than Dominos, and it doesn't make my wallet cry. Can even get all the sides and stuff whilst you are there shopping, and they taste just as good.

In Indiana, there's a chain called Pizza King, and their breadsticks are incredible. They're covered in garlic butter, are baked to perfection, and taste SO good.

I think we only have one pizza chain in our country and that's Dominos.

~99% of pizza restaurants in general are local family owned restaurants.

I live in Central NJ. I feel bad for you guys discussing favorite chains. You will have lived your whole life not knowing what real pizza is lol

Dominos - only their hand made pan pizza.

Pizza Hut - if you can find a non-corporate franchise that still makes the pan pizza like they used to in the 80's and 90's.

Papa Murphy's

It's definitely not for everyone since they don't cook the pizza. They just assemble whatever you want and wrap it up. Then you cook it yourself. I get one on my way home from work and cook it later. If I have any vegetables or sausage in the refrigerator, I throw that on too.

I actually don't mind any chain pizza. I'd go with Little Caesar's, Pizza Hut, Dominos, and then Papa John's but really if I'm getting pizza from one of these places I order based on who has the best deal at the time.

Round Table, then Domino's. D made a huge turnaround in the early 2000s when they admitted their pizza tasted like cardboard.

For a local chain, Blue Line Pizza in the Bay Area with their cornmeal crust is really fucking good.

Dominos because they're cheap, consistent, pretty fresh, and I feel less likely to get stabbed with a used needle than my local Pizza Hut. If I'm going for that tier of pizza though, I'm just as good with a Red Baron.

My go to favorite isn't a chain.

My state has several "chains" that are only in my state and one or two neighboring state. BUT if I had to choose between the usual suspects, Dominoes wins by automatic default since all the Papa Johns, Pizza Huts (Save for the ones that are half Taco Bells), and Little Caesars are all gone (or not within a 1 hour drive).

I use to destroy Papa Ginos pizzas before they went under.

I like the mom and pop local places that make that NY style or whatever it is thin crusted greasy ass pizza.
