Gonna vote for "A mix of different settings". Not only because some of my favorite RPGs use an actual mix (Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles, Earthbound, Final Fantasy) but also because it could kind of be taken to mean that I enjoy a mix of different settings depending on which game I'm playing.

I guess mixed is the best option but I prefer fantasy setting, like Tales of Vesperia, which I just played through for the first time. Guess that's kinda a broad label though

Mixed would be the worst for me. It means nothing much makes sense in it, just a mish mash of things.

I love RPG's and generally all kinds so I had to choose a mix. I think I prefer futuristic/sci fi ones if given the choice.

Medieval ones as long as they have magic and fantastical creatures etc.

I like WRPG'S, CRPG's, JRPG's and ARPG's.

All depends on if it's done well.

I could go for any setting but I lean towards fantasy though. Whether that's high fantasy of Elder Scrolls, or sci-fi fantasy. I just totally dig fantasy.

Just going to go with a mix. I don't think medieval alone is enough, but it's a pretty accurate overall description. As long as it's fantasy/otherworldly.

Medieval and Fantasy by far.(That's not to say i can't enjoy other settings or combinatons)

The Arthurian Legend is actually one of my favorite collection of stories ever but sadly we still haven't seen a proper medieval fantasy game that is based 100% on the Arthurian Legend. I would love to see a game like that on Witcher 3's scale that is inspired by both medieval artwork as well as 19th century renditions of the myth (poems and paintings) with an emphasis on both mystical and religious aesthetics as well as the more bright and heroic aspects of chivalry.

Just imagine a game based on King Arthur's myth that was inspired by artwork such as this:

Most recently I really, really like the Sakura War's Taishō period, now that game isn't really RPG but I love the setting and I would love to see JRPG in that setting.

I like the ones that feel like amixture of different styles the best.
Stuff like Chrono Trigger/Cross, or FF7 or Skies of Arcadia, etc.

Chrono Cross is still my favorite world in gaming and I wouldn't even know what to call it.

I'm not sure.. technically I'd say futuritic, because my fav RPG of all time is Panzer Dragoon Saga, and the setting is post apocalyptic.

However, it takes place in a completely fictional world. So, it could be categorized as current day, because I believe there have been ancient civilizations that got wiped out. So... hard to say. I voted futuristic.

I don't choose RPGs by time periods but current day is probably my favorite. I find very interesting to see modern objects and places by the RPG prism. Ninten, the Earthbound Beginnings protagonist can get an asthma attack when fighting cars because of the smoke and to dispell its effects you need to use an inhaler. Also, exploring the country in the game made me remember when I was a kid.

Many SMT games are set into current day also. Strange Journey used the modern themes very well. Unfortunatelly, there aren't many RPGs in current times or near future. Would love play a military RPG, something like Front Mission.

My second favorite is post apocalyptic. It has the locations and tools of the current times, but with the freedom of an world in chaos.

That said, I don't dislike any time periods. If it is good, I'm in. Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Dark Souls, Morrowind, Dragon's Dogma are among my favorites. I wish we had more variety in setting though.
