When's the last time you rode a bike?

It's been a while for me. I busted up my wrist off a jump on a mountain biking trail a few years back and called it quits for a while, but in an effort to improve my health overall, I've decided to commit to taking my bike to more locations rather than driving my car.

Just took this bad boy 11 miles through a local park to visit a friend's apartment. Now we're watching Robocop. Just a cheap Schwinn I had sitting in my garage. I'm not one of those cyclist guys or anything though... yet.

When's the last time you rode a bike? Anyone an enthusiast here?

2 years ago, it just got boring

now i'd love to start up again but i'd have to get shit tuned with new parts and this pandemic and ehhh fuck it

5 years ago outside of Lidl, and I went arse over head as the handle bars weren't aligned properly.

Luckily it was a quiet day, otherwise I'd be a social media star by now.

I loved riding bike when i was little, but it's like 20+ years since i used a bike the last time...

My cousin is pretty fixated with bikes right now, he bought a 1500 euros bike and he only talk about that all the time...

It would be awesome if riding a bike to work or to the store and stuff would be realistically feasible for me. I haven't ridden a bike since I was a kid. I used to like it a lot.

10 years ago, when all my bike tires went flat.

Funny thing is, around the same time I wanted to buy one of those "Electric Bikes" as a replacement. The ones that look like a scooter but they also have pedals you can use.

Unfortunately, whenever I see someone ride these things around here, they look like a complete prick. Some of them ride them on the roads but are too damn slow for the cars, and others just ride them on the sidewalk but don't actually move out your way.

3 to 4 times a week, two days ago currently. Always riding a bike with the family/kids. My son now rides around with his buddies after school, awesome as that's how I grew up with mates. I used to race BMX for years.

As for exercise on my own? Long time ago. Kids will handle 10-15kms but they really love the BMX track over basic riding.

A couple of months. Yesterday I filled the tires actually.

Fixed my father's bike sometime ago, need to go and take a ride with him. I don't like to ride alone :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Biking is the most conventional way of transportation and it also energizes the immune system, bikes make a lot of sense if they fit your situation.

A couple of days ago! I love riding bikes and it's been great to go out with my kids who only just recently learned to ride.

Almost every day except for the winter (I used to, I just don't find pleasure in dressing warm and having the bike dirty after every ride).

I remember going back to riding a bike after a 10+ years break. I was so out of form lol, I barely made it from the bike store on one end of the city to my home on the other end.

Yesterday! I have a full custom bmx.

What brand/parts did you customise? I used to race on my own custom Diamond Back Viper/Reactor and mashups of Haros. Searching for parts at local swap meets, crashing at mates places working on our bikes for the next day. Awesome times.

Attempting to teach my kids how to ride a bike and caught myself a bug and went out to get a bike. Apparently so did everyone else in 'murica because the only thing I could buy and have in a reasonable time was an $800 Trek.

Last weekend, but I hadn't been on for about 5 months prior to that so I kinda forgot how to do it!

Managed to fall off within the first 10km!

2014? It’s dumb. Not allowed to bike on the sidewalk, too dangerous on the road. It was surprisingly difficult as I hadn’t biked for 15+ years prior to that.

Plus I’m rich and bikes are for poor people.

If stationary bikes count it's been within the last 5 years but if not then It was probably when I was 17 which was about 30 years ago lol.

...hate me...
Last wednesday. Got a new bike this summer, super happy with it.

Except... now that I've got the bug I almost wish I had gone with a gravel bike instead of a hybrid.

Better yet, hope some day being able to drop the money for a gravel ebike. Now that's the dream.

Summer 2016 I was doing 20-25 mile rides on a trail 3x a week. Then I fucked my neck up and have gained 20 lbs since then.

June 2016- I took a trip down to the Hiroshima/Onomichi area of Japan and did the Shimanami Kaido. Ultimately, I realized I'm out of shape as fuck and got lost which sucked, but goddamn was it scenic. And now that I regularly exercise, I think I can do it without dying halfway into the 2nd island.

Three weeks ago 😉

I bought bikes for me and the wife a year ago, and before that i hadnt biked for over 15 years.
Forgot how much your ass hurts the day after if you bike a lot.
