Where do you go for E3 coverage other than GAF?

Outside of GAF, pretty much only YouTube to watch trailers and gameplay... I may visit Eurogamer, Videogamer or IGN for some more in-depth stuff but I'm usually pretty content with the GAF-YouTube combo.

I used to do GAF and Gametrailers w/ Keighley, but after he left I started watching his Youtube show. This year I'm going to do GAF, Youtube and Giantbomb.

Honestly? My preferable YouTubers.

During the Xbone reveal fiasco and the E3 that followed, NeoGAF's members demonstrated that they were more astute, more thorough in their investigation, and just plain faster with accurate and well informed news. So, basically, this is where I get my gaming news from 99% of the time. The insanity of the reveal threads and the speed at which they move just help weed out the lethargic.

Pretty much just GAF and Giant bomb.

I'm not all that hyped for E3 though.. watching GB talk over conferences is more fun than the conferences themselves.

EZA and GB's conference streams. Kinda Funny's post-conference Gamescasts and pre-shows. IGN and GameSpot pre and post shows can be pretty decent.

Tried Giant bomb last year but they were really quite awful last year. I can see how if you're looking to be as cynical as possible they'd be appealing but if you're a fan of liking video games I don't know how you could watch their coverage without just getting depressed.

Games are fun, GB is not.

Exactly with my issue with them.

I go with EZA because god damn they are some hype ass men. The GT stream last year was legendary.

I sift around streams for whatever appears to be outputting the highest quality.

I use N4G for headlines, ensuring I didn't miss anything.

I check the official channels for major publishers and platform holders to check for any extras that were not shown at E3, a lot of smaller trailers, such as those for indy games or smaller portions of larger titles are output here, but not directly at E3.

I read what people think of the news on Neogaf, Reddit, N4G and twitter. I usually have 8-15 people over to my house to watch the streams, so I talk to them about it too, obviously.

Giantbomb. Every year.

.

Lock it down or shut it down. Maybe it's because I'm older, but the GB crew speak my gaming language in a way that sometimes gets lost on the younger crowd as being overly cynical or jaded, when I see it as being tempered and cautious.

I checked out their E3 stuff last year out of curiosity and thought it was awful as well. I just can't see the appeal at all though. Definitely not for me.

YouTube live stream or twitch.. Playstation live view or whatever it's called tends to lose the stream every year I watch E3.

Yea I rather have man children losing their shit about a game that wont exist for 3-5 years rather then levelheaded responses

Man, that thread last year about GT Vs giant bomb was one of the saddest things I saw on GAF during E3. People calling the GT crew names, other people screaming that the gaint bomb crew should leave the industry because they don't get enthusiastic about the same things as them. Different tastes for different people, and I am sure the crews themselves are 100 % ok with each other. The imaginary rivalry was so dumb.

Have used Twitch and GiantBomb in the past. Occasionally tuned into whatever programming Geoff Keighley would be doing, and that was either Spike, G4, GameTrailers or simulcast of a combination of those.

After hours is exclusively GiantBomb.

Will definitely add Easy Allies to the mix this year.

Also, I've always lurked GAF in the past but since I'm now registered (and just graduated to Member today!), I suppose I will actively be posting in threads for the first time this year. :D

I have to say on this particular point that people seem to think is a disadvantage with GiantBomb, I think coming to their more anti-hype approach is hugely valuable to someone like me who is just losing their mind in excitement the whole time. The stark contrast in attitude really helps me level out the marketing glitz and unreasonable excitement. Love tuning in for the candid, no-holds-barred after hours stuff for that particular reason... It's such a nice comedown after a day of just going bananas.

I mainly check GAF for my E3 news. I used to check out gametrailers
RIP
. And kotaku for the overall summary and videos all listed together.

Unfortunately I won't be able to watch the live show! =(

That said, I may get home from work and watch both Sony and Microsoft recorded conferences on Youtube. I always enjoy watching both myself to feel it, before jumping to the forum debates about the new announcements.

-Pre-conference interviews by Geoff
-Official live streaming for the conferences (if possible in Youtube, I hate Twitch).
-Gaf and Twitter for interviews (if possible Gamersyde, if not Youtube) and trailers from any media during the E3 days. Typically there are great ones by Geoff, IGN or Gamespot.
-Then I watch the conferences again -or their recaps- with the comments from Eurogamer Spain and Anaitgames (Spanish). This year I think I'll listen Easy Allies because of Bossman.
-Last day of E3 Giant Bomb for their chat with beers with people from companies, specially Boyes and that guy from Disney. These 2 guys deserve to have their own comedy show.

Nowhere at all. I have GAF tabbed up with the conferences streaming. I just follow along because it's truly a one-stop shop here. Everything makes it here within 10 minutes of being found/revealed.

Nintendo World Report, since Nintendo is all I care about (yes I know it's going to be rough this year, but like a battered wife I still love Nintendo and know/trust they will be better in the future).

Eza and geoff because he gets to interview some big shots.

I wish there was a snapchat account to show us whats going on on the floot.

Gematsu, though the comments section has been getting increasingly shitty. Don't know whether to cringe or laugh.

Waaaaay back in the day I used to do Gamespot and IGN.

Watched GT last year. So definitely EZA this year. Huber's positivity alone automatically draws me in. Will probably check out Kinda Funny's stuff throughout the day.

Other than GAF? Are you telling me that you believe that there’s a world outside of GAF? XD
That’s rich!

Oh man, that’s funny. I mean, if that gets your through life, and works for you, believe whatever you want. Just don’t shove that whole “life outside of GAF” thing down my throat!

I mostly use Twitter. I don’t care which site someone links to on GAF or Twitter, but I never go straight to those sites to look for news.

Post-1UP.com I’m just not into going to non-GAF game sites. Maybe Kotaku gets a pass. Yeah, it’s been like this for a while. I’ll read an article if someone links it, though.

I don't think GB are cynical as much as they know how the machine works and don't falsely hype stuff. Having watched them for a while since 2014 you realise they do love games but a slick CG PR trailer isn't going to wet their pants which is fair enough

I find myself choosing based on my own hype and cynicism.
- MS/Sony/Nintendo live vanilla first for my own personal reactions
- EA etc bomb cast talk over because they'll nitpick the minutiae and I find those third party keynotes a little dull without some snark.

Then probably easy allies talkover of MS+Sony to see their reactions to my favourite bits. Then GB talkover to get a more down to earth reality check on stuff and to watch them call out any bullshit on stage.

Then for general coverage GAF for impressions and links to vids from the floor, plus GB evening roundup live. Watched those for the first time last year and Dave's phone stuff was just...amazing

Watch the conference on Youtube until something big drops.. then it's popcorn time on GAF.
