So you are calling me a liar right? Why would I take the time to write a post about this game and telling you that you can play it and enjoy hundreds of hours without having to pay if I was lying? I would get caught in that lie and people would call me out immediately with all the information that we have available online.

Many AAA F2P games, like this one, have a bigger budget and production values than most Sony and MS's games.

There are a lot of issues that need fixing, like some cutscenes that look like old early-build stuff because of the low quality, and a bunch of bugs for everyone. But it's a promising game if they keep polishing it over time.

I want to be able to recreate a character from scratch, hopefully they add that option.

It's free to play, not free to look fancy in game.

Valve earned billions selling fancy, and for a long time it was their main revenue and Steam was just a side activity.

The game is incredible. I'm about 60 hours in, just finished the first chapter of the story, and still haven't unlocked most of the first map.

I think I like it better than Rise of Ronin. The UI is terrible however.

I immediately thought of RotR when I started playing. I don't know if I think the combat is better, it is damn sure a better open world and there is a ton more to do.

Combat is definitely not better, at least not in its early-ish form (imo), RotR is in league of its own in that aspect.

But RotR definitely does come to mind when playing WWM. I'd say it's a blend between RotR, Woke of Yotei and AC: Shadows. It has a fantastic art direction and exploration of sucker punch, technical touches and vistas of Shadows, 'game feel' and customization of RotR.

But that's strictly speaking about single-player, this game can also be a quasi-mmo. The raids have actual mechanics and are pretty damn fun. Entire premise and general scope behind this game is insane, despite the jank and UI/localization issues.

I've played for about 10 hours - game is good, exploration feels fun and rewarding, visuals are good (though some things have N64 textures for some unknown reason). My only gripe is that there are a lot of complex systems that the game explains once then expects you to remember. I've hit a wall on a few quests that are like "go to this one spot and perform a sense crouch"... and I may or may not have been intoxicated a week ago when I learned whatever the fuck move they're talking about.

But nothing game breaking or anything.

Just recently I got an NPC falsely accusing me of stealing some herbs, and I now have a bounty on my head unless I hire a online scholar do defend my case

I suspect so yes.

The disadvantage is that you'll start getting NPC's and real players trying to collect your bounty. Or, you could spend time in jail atoning for your actions

I agree. The UI is not the best but you get used to it after some time. I dont have any issues anymore navigating them

The menus are standard gacha jank.

If you've played Genshin or Wuthering Waves, etc... they aren't that much different.

The difference is that, at least in my opinion, those games do a better job of explaining systems and menus than this game.

Oh you ain't wrong. I've played plenty gacha games. They all have some seriously bad menus for sure.

Followed this a while but have yet to dive in, got it downloaded on my Pro. I have friends playing there and they seem to love it with a few absolutely being obsessed which I find funny since they seem to loathe gatcha games and a lot of eastern stuff. Wouldn't play with me at all and now they are begging for me the group healer to join in. My main problem is the crazy MTX and having serious open world fatigue. I'm also working on a large backlog and don't want to get stuck in a massive unending open world game forever. I appreciate the co-op though. I also don't have the stomach to sit through hours of character creation, I prefer premade selections and in mmo-type games I hate looking like everyone else.

But it's nice to hear people are enjoying this. I still intend to give it a shot but when it comes to gatcha games I'd rather play something with proper T'n'A since that's what I enjoy. WWM just doesn't have that with the doll look of the characters. I did watch A Chinese Ghost Story last night with the GF to try and get in the mood though lol.

It's absolutely insane how much high-quality content it offers: well written side quests, a compelling main story, and truly rewarding exploration. Every npc feels unique, they always have something interesting to say, and many of them offer quests that are surprisingly deep and engaging. The game is packed with systems and options that can feel overwhelming at first, but once everything clicks, you just can't stop playing.


The combat is fantastic. There are tons of weapons, skills, and attack styles, and everything feels fluid, satisfying, and visually impressive. The graphics are great too, aside from the occasional rough texture here and there, yet the world is vast, beautiful, and full of stunning landscapes.


I genuinely encourage everyone here, papito to papito, to give this game a try. It's one of the best open world experiences I've had in years. The sheer amount of content, dungeons, skills, items, secrets, is staggering, and it's easily become one of my favorite open-world games. Beware, there is some jank at times, this game is by no means perfect but its really good, seriously


And don't worry about gacha or microtransactions, you don't need any of that to fully enjoy it. They are mostly cosmetic and frankly the game gives you for free amazing looking outfits


Trust me: play this game. Stick with it, I know the menus and systems can feel overwhelming at first, but with a bit of patience, you'll learn your way around.

I really want to start playing but EU5 is asking me to try (and fail) to conquer Europe as a small 1-2 province minor again!

Will play a bit over Thanksgiving just to get a feel for I need that menu flow chart handy though.

+1 to the OP. So far the game has been engaging, bug free, performs well on pc (blah blah blah it should cause its a stupid mobile title blah blah), and you get to be a sick ass Crouching Tiger who slays Hidden Dragons!
