Which developer's work are you most looking forward to next gen?

There's alot of potential for what many developers can create next gen, but which out of them all, are you most looking forward to playing?

KCEJ - IMO, they've created some of my favourite games this gen, MGS 2, ZoE 1/2 and hopefully MGS 3 will be added to that soon. I can't wait to see what they come up with, they've mastered PS2's hardware, and I have no doubt in my mind that they have a great deal of potential. Also, can't wait see Kojima's next project is; perhaps a return to the cyber punk genre?

Silicon Knights - Loved Eternal Darkness, liked Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, look forward to whatever they bring next and I'm sure they're working on something for next-gen right now.

Retro Studios - They're a talented bunch of course, looking forward to seeing their killer apps for Revolution.

Rare - They've been dissapointing this gen, but it seems they're getting back on their feet and will release some Xenon exclusives. Can't wait to see what they've cooked up, no matter how long it takes...

Bungie - Loved Halo 1, 2 and I'm sure they'll impress me further with the third chapter. Although didn't they say they'd be working on something different after Halo 2? Something non-SciFi?

What about you?

Short range -> Namco. Each gen they have impressed us with awesome titles at launch.

Long range -> Konami, Nintendo and Capcom. Can't wait to see what they are planning for next gen. I am sure Capcom will repeat this gen's plan by introducing new franchises to milk next gen but at least they will be new. And From Konami I hope new franchises as well. I would like Nintendo to change accordingly the new times, to forget about all heroes and franchises and show again why they used to be the best software company.

KCEJ and Retro for the same reasons you mentioned.

I'll add:
Rockstar North: I can't wait to see the next-gen GTA.
Polyphony Digital: PS3 Gran Turismo. :D

Square Enix < Stuck with a incapable system this gen. The sleeping giant will awake next gen or atleast I hope it does ;P

Mist Walker < The art for their Revolution or Xenon RPG looks amazing, can't wait to see the game.

Namco < Next gen Ace Combat, Ridge Racer! Can't wait!

Konami < MGS3 and ZOE 2 look fucking awesome on PS2, can't wait to see what they do next gen.

Who makes the Unreal games again? Unreal III looks awesome.

Also the Burnout studio.

Ubisoft
Dice < Battlefield series
Capcom

All Sony devs! Ico team, ND, PD, etc

Sega - I am a SEGA whore

Bioware - I think that they will do even more on next gen consoles then they did in this gen

SquareEnix - I'm really curious what they'll be able to do on the next gen

Namco - especially the next gen Tales of games are of great interest to me

Bethesda
Square
Bioware
Valve
Bungie
Rockstar
SEGA
Tecmo
Namco
Konami
Insomniac
Naughty Dog
Rare
Nintendo(but only if they make next gen Star Fox - in house)

- Ex Smilebit / Amusement Vision. These guys did not release anything since PDO and certainly are working on something *REALLY* big if it takes that much time. Considering they have been told to be working on a game for Xbox and we still do not know anything about it I'm pretty sure it's been shifted to Xbox 2 (japan launch game ?)
- Bizarre Creations. PGR2 was awesome online, I just can't wait to see what these guys will manage to do next gen.
- Team Ninja. Obviously Ninja Gaiden 2 on next gen hardware is something I look forward to see in motion.
- Team Tree (Phantom Dust) at MGS Japan. Phantom Dust was such an awesome looking and playing game. These guys are talented and I hope they didn't quit in disgust after that stupid decision not to bring it to the US (and that the game was a disaster in Japan).
Yes it's Xbox centric, sue me.

Team Ninja: Ninja Gaiden was surprisingly good and they always wow visually. I want to see what they have in store for Xenon launch.

Sega-AM2: VF5 is probably deep into production for System SP mor whatever it's called. Hopefully it's unveiled soon so it can give a good indictaion of next gen expectations.

Amusement Vision: Sega's breakout success story. Nagoshi must be up to something, Shining Force and renderware MonkeyBall can't be taking up all his time, right?

Level 5: DQ8 looks so amazingly... complete. It's really like a virtual world, corny as it sounds... I want to see what they can do next gen.

Nintendo EAD: They've been battered pretty hard this generation after their unparalled N64 performance. I want to see what lessons they learned.

Treasure: I need something fun to go with all the tech demos.

Intelligent Systems: MUST HAVE ADVANCE WARS DS!!

Retro Studios: A talented american team guided by Nintendo. Can they really make a bad/average game? I am really looking forward to the future concept arts by Andrew Jones, and the senior programmer Zoid's work. West meets East for the best of two worlds.

Square-Enix: I am just waiting for SE to create masterpieces like in the snes and PSX era again. Looking forward to FFXII.

Intelligent Systems: I am always looking forward to IS games because of great gameplay. Paper Mario 2 rocked.

EAD: EAD like SE were dominating in the past generations, I am waiting for them to break out for real again. Pikmin 2 was great, but the new Zelda could be awesome.

Namco: Namco always has a huge a little now and then. Loved ToS and BK.

Capcom:(clover) RE4 looks promesing. The demo rocked. Can't wait to see more.

Konami: Castlevania and Goemon. Enuff said.

Starbreeze: Riddick was an unexpected hit. Beautiful graphics and good gameplay.

Actually, I think they're behind Shining Force GBA & PS2. They also released Ollie King on Chihiro... more likely we're due for something new from the original half of AV.

Yeah they did Ollie King, but I doubt this game needed the full time of the whole ex-smilebit. I don't know much about these Shining Force games so you may be right.
I remember AV saying they had (this was after they got the people from Smilebit in) at least another (I think it was 2) Xbox game being worked on besides Spikeout. Of course they may have simply canned them when all teams joined back to the whole Sega/Sammy company.

Konami: I can't wait to see the next installment of MGS, ZoE, and Suikoden

SquareEnix: Final Fantasy, KH, and hopefully a 2-D/3-D high-res Mana game

Namco: Ace Combat 4/5 were fantastic graphically and I can't wait to see Ace Combat 6 on ps3 (if it happens)...oh and Time Crisis 4 please..:)

-Square: Its been almost a tradition for every generation now, and im pretty confident that they'll be in the leading pack in terms of graphics for next gen consoles, all the money they invested for their CGI movie, the technology developed and created behind it, its not something thats gone to waste, they could easily adapt some of their developed methods for CGI characters/environments for next gen games.

-Konami: Remember MGS2's unveilling? Nuff said :D An MGS4 would be doubtful but ZOE3, im all for that.

-Nintendo, more specifically, retro studios, these guys are awesome, i cant wait to see what they'll do with better technology.

Starbreeze. They could crap and I'd eat their corn. PS3, Xenon, I just don't care at all.

And all of you should be punished for not naming the crack team of Swinging Ape Studios.

There are many more teams I am looking forward to, but those two have been the most surprising so far IMHO, so I'll be watching them closely.

Nintendo in house definetly.
I am already extremely excited for Bioware's next generationn work seeing as how they have licensed the Unreal III tech.
Insomniac Games definetly because they rock!
Mist Walker as well because I want to see Sakaguchi break out and try something new, and as Doom mentioned, the art for their new project is gorgeous.
Finally, I will add Konami because I want to see ZOE 3. :D

Sega's AV - Monkey Ball 1/2 and F-Zero make them my favorite developers this gen. The speed, difficulty, smooth control, and clean visuals fit together for a perfect experience for me. I can't wait to see what they come up with for the next generation, regardless of what platform it's on.

Nintendo, Capcom, Rockstar, Blizzard (I know they don't work according to console generations..I just wanna see what they're doing next :))

I'm almost 100% sure the new Shining Forces are from ex-Smilebit (AV didn't even have GBA SDKs before they came on board).

AV's other Xbox games might've been Ollie King (Xbox based at least, maybe a port was planned initially) and MonkeyBall DX. I doubt we'll see anything new from them on Xbox that hasn't been announced... any Xbox proects they might've under wraps had are probably moved to Xenon now.

Nintendo - obviously all the teams, but i really can't wait to see what the Tokyo Team does. it's just got soo many people new to the company, and they all came from devlopers that make the best eye candy out there. i'd also love to see the return of IRD.)

Namco - man, where to start. im betting on these guys to deliver more than they did this gen, and that's saying quite a bit.

Q Entertainment - just for Mizuguchi alone, but man, if Sakurai sticks around, and just isn't around for Meteos, holy shit are we gonna get some mind blowing shit.

Technos - i'd love to see the DS become their platform of choice.

KCEJ - these guys can do whatever the fuck they want. just please make atleast one text based adventure for the DS.

Clover - oh these guys are on top of things. i can't wait to see what these guys do.

UGA - even though they're part of Sonic Team now, i really hope they don't get fucked. these guys have some of the best style out there.

AM2 - i think these guys are gonna end up being one of the best teams out there next gen. they just have such a rich history if you think about it. i expect big things from them next gen.

Digital Rex - this team should be nuts. i hope they get to bust out another Shenmue, or something similar.

Smilebit - these guys kept coming up with some pretty fresh ideas. who knows what they'd come up with when they get their hands on insane power.

Polyphony - yeah, they're gonna have a lot of fun making the next Gran Turismo.

DMA - same as Polyphony, but with GTA.

some of these teams i'd love to go crazy with the DS.

I'm very excited to see what Level-5 can do next gen.

Square-Enix obviously. Especially team Kitase/Nomura, team Naora, and team Matsuno.

You practically read my mind. I should go back and fix my list, but yours is so perfect, that I will leave the honor to you.
I would love to see any of these teams do something for the DS. Nintendo should pay attention and get some of these guys developing more games for the DS. I know Q is working on Meteos so hopefully that does well enough to convince them to stick around.

i honestly believe that the touch screen alone will keep developers coming back. even if they don't make a profit, word on the street is that everyone that's developing something for it can't deprive themselves of it. frankly, i can't blame them.

For the Playstation 3:

Omega Force - Dynasty Warriors 5 pants exploding orgy of violence!

Snowblind - Champions of Pants Exploding gyrating dark elf hookers!

Harmonix - Pants explodingly engaging esoteric music or wacky peripheral games!

Akari Uchida, of Konami - Rumble Roses 2!

Sandlot - Awesome super robot game, assuming the cease to make concessions to the idiot gaming majority who can't hand with R.C.D. / R.A.D. control schemes.

Red - They made some of my favorite low rent action games on the PS2; Gungrave, Bujingai.

For Nintendo:

Wayforward, and whatever Shantae games manage to make it out amidst the Mario Party / Sports titles.

I can imagine. The minigames in Mario are extremely addictive because of their simple touch screen interface, but imagine if somebody were to elaborate on it yet keep the addictive nature. I do agree though that if a developers game would bomb, it would keep going on the DS mainly because it still challenges them to create something new. This industry needs more risktakers.

I am looking forward to seeing what Nintendo (EAD and Tokyo), Square-Enix, Capcom/Clover Studios, Namco, Retro, Mist Walker, Rare, Bungie, Zoonami, and the ICO Team come up with.

As I really don't see much developers can do next gen that they can't this (well, depends how Revolution turns out), I look forward to anything new from anyone.

I can look forward to seeing what some teams do in terms of graphics though. The usual strong ones: Factor 5, Tecmo, Rare, Capcom (well, the RE4 team anyway) etc.

well, the DS is their safe heaven. i mean, that's the whole point of the system after all.
Absolutely. I actually wouldn't be surprised if larger companies shifted more resources towards DS development after seeing how much of an open market it can be. The console market is becoming even more convoluted everyday so developers will be able to take risks on the DS without having to worry as much.

Midway, by far. Their new and revitalized franchises all look interesting, and could have quite a bit of potential next gen.
