Upcoming games you are looking forward to that not many people know about

Gotchic remake.

There's an an indie VR survival horror releasing with fixed camera angles. Looks indie as F but I'm excited to see what third-person fixed angles is like in VR.

A bunch others as well, THQ Nordic is the publisher I'm interested in the most.

DotEmu (Streets of Rage 4, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound) Revealed yet another beatemup project they're working on, this time a beatemup RPG hybrid and it looks gorgeous.

Definitely wishlisted and looking forward to this one based on what I'm hearing about it:

Not really upcoming because the game just came out, but I already bought it because I loved Two Point Hospital (as I did Theme Hospital back in the day), and this game looks really fun.

The name seems like a play on Twin Peaks? Are the games weird or Lynchian at all?

Awesome thread!

Recommendations from me:

Air Frame Ultra

Skin Deep

Dead Static Drive

Troubleshooting

Retrospace

Zakon

Deep State

Interlopers

Wolfhound

Sledding Game

White Knuckle

It has been said that they had some problems with the old publisher and removed from Steam on January (Old publisher's all games removed). They came back with the new publisher.

Chinese Hades. Worth keeping an eye.

Adding another i've had my eye on, Pipistrello and the cursed yoyo. Its by the same guys who did Dodgeball academia. Brazil is really bringing the heat in recent years.

It just got confirmed for multiple platforms.

Blades of Fire.

This game releases real soon, and it's the first I've ever heard of it. It's like it was developed in complete secret!

Got reminded of another game that seems promising, Crisol: Theatre of idols. Appears Bioshock-esque inspired at first glance. Developed by a Spanish studio.

So happy we got a few of those coming.

Looks Bioshock Infinite inspired.

From the creator of Bioshock 1-2.

Chronos: The new dawn

Newest deepdive. New gameplay snippets.

The devs say the were inspired by The Thing, Dead Space and Dark.

This one is like This War of Mine with zombies. Demo available.

Loving the aesthetic of this one and reminds me a bit of They are Billions with how chaotic it looks.

Listen, I don't want to hear shit about "historical accuracy" regarding this shit, just play the fucking game for fun lol

Just bumping the thread to add Pull stay to the pool. It looks super quirky, in that early/late 90's Japanese kind of way, charming and reminiscent of Katamari damacy:

Hopefully it'll eventually land on consoles at some point too.

Don't know how many people know about it or not but I haven't been this excited for a game in literally 15 years. This will be my second game ever for which I intend to preorder collector's/special edition

Here are some recent games I've seen trailers of that interest me:

Hear Tell of Hauntings

A survival horror game starring (who I believe to be) Jennifer Hale. At least to me it sounds just like her Ashe character from Overwatch. I also like that the artstyle is going for a more Overwatch tone. I want to see how they'll pull that off with survival horror.

Duskfade

A clear Kingdom Hearts/PS2 platformer inspiration here. It looks like it will hopefully feel good to play as animation looks decently smooth.

Runescape Dragonwilds

I will eventually play this when it leaves early access. It looks amazing and almost like it's kind of carrying the torch of that cancelled "Everquest Next" dream MMO experience.

Pioner

The MMO-shooter scene is sparse, so I welcome any new competition for it. Another contender will be the upcoming Dune game, but Pioner managed to intrigue me just a bit more.

Lastly...

Covenant

Another subgenre that doesn't have many offerings are the shooter soulslikes. After the amazing Remnant 1 and 2, I'm always curious to see how anyone will innovate in this space. Covenant had a great enough first trailer to catch my attention.

Gonna have to keep an eye for this.

For me, it's not exactly upcoming game, and who knows when will it be completed, but Metal Gear Solid decompilation is something I am looking forward the most.

Playing the legendary MGS1 game at 60fps will be something otherwordly for me.

New expack for grim dawn:
Its coming in 2025, new class(berzerker, it transform into stuff), tons of new items, new areas etc, timestamped for details from devs themsefs:

Seems like an appropriate time to bump this thread. Just learned about ENENRA : DΔEMON CORE. Looks like a solid action packed indie/AA-looking game. Main inspirations are DMC, NG and MGR:

Apparently its in solo development. Coming to multiple platforms.

Band of Crusaders is a dark medieval strategy RPG in which you become Grandmaster of a knightly order and lead it against a demonic invasion of Europe. Craft your sandbox adventure - explore a vast simulated world, recruit crusaders, grow your camp, and face demons & human foes in real-time combat.

About This Game
In medieval Europe, sins give rise to demonic amalgamations. Heresy and fear slowly consume the entire realm. As Grandmaster of a knightly order, you are called to lead a crusade against this unholy menace. Gather your Brothers, strengthen your camp, and confront the Archdemons in fierce battles to reclaim the land from darkness.

Band of Crusaders immerses you in a dark medieval fantasy where your leadership determines the fate of Europe.

Experience a dynamic, tactical combat system enhanced by slow-motion mechanics. Victory hinges on character synergies, smart use of abilities, and unit positioning. The consequences of combat are significant, as every hit could lead to the permanent death of a crusader. Engagements will pull you into deep, stat-driven, party-based combat with a variety of maps offering different tactical opportunities.

Manage and develop a roster of up to 20 crusader knights while navigating scarce resources in a ravaged landscape. Develop your camp to support recruitment, healing, repairs, training, and more. Each crusader brings novelty to your camp with their own backgrounds, strengths and weaknesses as well as the ability to synergize with their Brothers. The upgradable buildings offer intricate interactions that are designed to foster experimentation and strategic campaign progression.

Progress your crusaders through attributes and abilities with skill trees encouraging versatile multi-role builds. Select equipment to support your combat strategy and improve upon it throughout your campaign. Without fixed character classes, abilities are universal and connect directly with crusaders' weapons. Players can utilize a mix of active, passive, and semi-active abilities to craft their own playstyle.

The world changes over time, driven by a wide range of emergent player and NPC interactions. Your progress is influenced by a simulated invasion of demonic forces, triggering reactions from human factions. This relentless onslaught culminates in epic boss battles where the player has the power to emerge victorious; a savior of humanity. On this path, your gameplay will be influenced by world conditions, such as the saturation of demonic forces, changing seasons, and a day-night cycle.

You will have to face not only human enemies but also demonic creatures inspired by biblical descriptions and European folklore. Each of the enemy families has its strengths and weaknesses, encouraging the player to strategize and adjust their combat tactics.

Battle Brothers, but real-time, 3D and with an interesting backdrop.

This looked really cool, heard about it last summer and put it on my wishlist to keep an eye on. It comes out this year supposedly but I guess we'll see. I like rhythm games and this one seemed neat.

Both games are early access

Really dig the artstyle even though it's not usually my kind of game, demo available.

This one's out in early access and I own it. I need to play it more but the particles and artstyle intrigued me along with the combat/roguelite aspect.
