Which DVDr's are good for cheap? I have a Plextor PX-712A DVD Writer. (12x dvdr; 4x dvdrw)

Any of the cheap ones on pricewatch trustable?

Everyone in know metions that G4 Ritek alot. Princo is cheapest and has never given me much issue though alot say its crappy cheapie.

Ritek are pretty good. I've had a NEC 2510 burner for a while and don't have problems with current batches of ritek's as long as i don't burn past 4x otherwise CRC errors pop up and my data won't all come off of the drive. Never had a problem with any backups of my dvd movies at any speed.

Fuji are known to be either really good or excellent. Excellent if you get a batch of taiyo yuden *sp?* disks www.dvdinfopro.com can id what batch you get when you really want to know

Ritek are usually considered some of the best on the net, but some burners have to have the firmware upgraded to fully utilize the speed of the disk.

I haven't had too many coasters with Ritek. The -R is locked at 4x and burns fine all the time but the +R can burn at 6x and I get problems at that speed. If I burn at the media's rated speed of 4x, they're usually flawless.

Don't buy cheap dvdrs if you value your data. Taiyo Yuden is the brand of the gods

8x, but can write at 12x in my Plextor 712. Ooh wee, I just love them.

+1 Taiyo Yuden. I've never had a coaster with their discs. They get outstanding ratings for aging tests.

Like someone said before, if you value your data, get Taiyo Yuden. Some brands may burn fine now, but in 5+ years could corrupt.
