When Disney execs saw that Thor: The Dark World was struggling to come together during production, they airlifted in Joss Whedon, hot off his billion dollar success with The Avengers, to save the film.

The year is 2025. You're Vice President of Games as a Service at Sony. You drive a late model S-Class and golf three times a week with colleagues. Every month you present a new Powerpoint about how much money Sony stands to make when GaaS finally takes off. But now, in the wake of controversy and troubled development, Marathon is in deep waters. Your neck is on the line, as is billions of dollars in investment for Bungie.

Who's your Joss Whedon?

Sorry Professor, I went with Corinne Busche. I'm not exactly sure what a Queerosexual Gendermancer is, but it sounds more powerful than some mere professor.

Nicolas Doucet and Team Asobi. They've already made a platformer to rival Mario, why not a colorful TPS to rival Splatoon?

Alternatively, I'd love to see what Kojima would make of the universe... after turning it into a single-player narrative adventure, of course.

I'm still mad at Joss Whedon over Wash. I'm taking this grudge to my grave. Putting that aside, Topher Topher was right. Bring in Peter Molyneux. Sell the promise. Turn it into a low key Populous spiritual successor. Go fucking ape shitt. It can't do any worse.

They probably should just cut their losses. It's an IP with almost zero name recognition, so it's not even worth trying to salvage.

Ragnar Tornquist could probably dupe the government into funding the game with taxpayer money. The game could be profitable even if it sells zero copies.

Don't count him out so soon!

To make Marathon a success or at least a good game they have to give it to Bluepoint or Nightdive, remaster the original game and dump.the turd Bungie is working on right now.

Marathons tend to be more fun to run when you add Monster energy drinks or piss grenades into the mix.
Who knows, maybe that is exactly what Marathon needs.

And it definitely needs someone like Yoji Shinkawa to redesign those wacky (in a bad way) looking characters.

Alanah Pearce would bring the studio moral up.

She's got two great assets she can unveil at anytime to get these boys excited about making a game.
