I just want to be able to easily select my music and 'send to->' the portable device. Its not protected, just mp3.

Do I need specially certified players, or will anything USB mass storage class work OK?

I know a lot are 'drag and drop' in explorer, but thats not easy with lots of folders, or selecting based on genre.

I can tell you what it doesn't support, and that's my iRiver H140. And that's even recognised as USB mass storage by windows. Boo-erns.

thanks, but i'm trying to find out if there is a general rule. Seems like just USB doesn't cut it, so I'll need something that specifically says 'yes'. Is ipod supported like that (probably a silly question)

GKB, H140 is listed on microsofts WMP10 page as a supported device. You should check it out and see if there is updated firmware for the player.

I don't see it mentioned, and WMP doesn't recognise my player.

Sure you don't mean the H10?

Pretty sure my Zen Touch does it.

Hey man, does your Zen Touch show up as a drive letter in Windows? If it does, that'll be the reason I'll keep the one I practically ganked from Frys, otherwise it's goin' Ebay......
