Which game is better? I can't decide which one to get. If this help you all, my current favorite racing games are F-zero GX, Burnout Revenge and Ridge Racer on PSP.

-For PGR3 owners, is it playable online and if it is, is it 2 player split screen online? Is the music awesome?

-For RR6 owners, is the music awesome?

-For owners of both, which has better music? Which is more fun?

NFS:MW isn't an option? Not saying one's better than the other, just curious.

For all your PGR3 questions, yes except splitscreen online.
And since you've already played RR on PSP, of which I hear RR6 is very similar, try PGR3. :)

Get PGR3 just for something new. However, I rented RR6 last week and while I played the hell out of RR PSP, I still got hooked on this version, mainly due to the fact that it has online play. In regards to the music, PGR has an eclectic soundtrack that really sets the bar IMO, while RR6's tunes leave something to be desired (but can be easily fixed with the custom soundtrack option!).

I would go for RR6. Just looking at your list of favorite racing games RR6 seems to fit the bill perfectly. PGR3 is not really an all out arcade racer from what I have seen, and it seems like online play is dominated by the Ferrari F50 GT. Oh and the online community in RR6 is said to be miles better then PGR3 with people helping each other out not trying to take their opponent out at every chance they get. Sure, the community thing might not be a big deal if you only play with friends but if you enjoy playing mature gamers from around the world that from most reports are very friendly then RR6 would be a sure bet.

PGR3 has the best selection of licensed tracks in a videogame ever.

Death From Above 1979
Hot Hot Heat
Bloc Party
Chemical Brothers
Skinny Puppy
Aphex Twin

Classical music
Jpop

tons more that I don't remember off the top of my head.

PGR3.

RR6 is very similar to RR PSP from what I've played of it. PGR3 is simply a more visceral experience.

NFS is fun, but not really a racing game - its more an action game in cars.

But if you're a fan of racing games generally, you may find value in all three eventually.

RR6 could use another sale. Pity Namco. Pick it up.

You can say that again. Last night, I ran one of the global time trial races. After I finished, i saw that I was ranked 24th. At first, I thought that was awesome. In PGR3, I'm regularly ranked in the 100's somewhere. Then, I noticed how many total times were recorded: 35.

That said, I'd still go with PGR3.

Judging from your racing favorites (which are all arcade-y), I would go RR6. PGR3 is the better game overall though.

And what's with judging a racing game by its music? That's the last criteria I would think to look at, especially with 360 games. Even in this case, PGR3 > RR

I seem to remember PGR2 having awful music. Did they put a lot more effort into this time around?

neither, you should trade your 360 for sex with a slim 5'4" blonde and her shy asian roommate

Seeing as how PGR3 raised the bar for racing games as a whole in terms of playability and graphics while RR6 was just another port of Ridge Racer. . There's no reason not to get PGR3 while I can't come up with a single excuse to spend $60 bucks on RR6.

i wouldntmind picking up rr6 just to race with gaffers and give namco some love... but 60$ is pretty steep for the experience.

i would go for pgr3 without a doubt, but looking at your "favorite racers" list, it obvious you'd enjoy rr6 far more.

No it doesn't.

AND as for RR6 vs PGR3, it's all a matter of what you want out of the game. Graphics wise there's absolutely no comparison, PGR3 is an absolutely stunning piece of software. You play the game just to admire its beauty. That's not to say RR6 is bad looking, not by any means, the graphics are quite attractive, and the courses and cars are fantastic looking. When it comes to pure driving experience, RR is in a class of its own. RR6 is a joy to play, you're not fighting with the car to make it do what you want to do, you're working with the car to execute highly refined maneuvers. For arcade racing fans there's no doubt whatsoever as to what is the better arcade racing game from a driving/handling perspective.

Then there's the presentation. Both games take a very different approach to the presentation and both do a fantastic job at what they set out to do. RR6 doesn't have all the different game modes and types and Gotham TV, but it does have a huge single player campaign that will last you about 20 hours.

Personally for me, I love the Ridge Racer style, from the menus all the way to the announcer. The gameplay is exactly what I want and I never get frustrated, even when I lose a race, I just look forward to retrying it again (made all the more smooth by having NO loading between restarts, unlike PGR3 :P).
