I never fell for Grandia 1. Maybe it was the horrible voices, maybe the slow and boring plot, or the ugly graphics (PSX version). I liked Grandia 2 more actually.

Suikoden II is far superior IMO.

I thought Granida I's characters were much more charming and engaging, and the main character

didn't turn into a complete watered down pussy-from "bad ass antihero" at the end like in GII.

I could never really get into Suikoden 3 (didn't get a chance to play it much), but I loved Grandia 2.
The battle system was so much fun.

Chiming in on the graphics and frame rate, Suikoden III's final boss is one of the few times I got nauseous playing a game.

Ever seen Grandia 2's final boss? I remember back when it first came out and a few us on the board were playing through the import and made it to the final boss. Lots of pissed off and confused people. :lol

At least it wasn't an angel-like figurine, like every single RPG ever these past few years... But yeah it still looked pretty stupid and it was probably the easiest boss I've ever beaten (well, aside from Sephiroth, the end guy of SHII, Jie Revorse in SO1.... wow there's a lot of easy RPG bosses)

I'm gonna say this as nicely a spossible; Grandia II poops all over Suikoden III.

Frankly Skies of Arcadia beats them both.

Sui is just too slow and methodical for my liking. Grandia II has serious plot issues (especially toward the end) but the battle system and graphics (by the way, this game looks infinitely better than Sui 3 too) make up for it.

In my opinion the first Grandia was better than number 2. One really had nothing to do with the other plotwise, so that's probably why.

You know, I'm not that big of a SoA fan but you are indeed correct with your statements.

Actually, Grandia 2 is the pre-pre-pre-prequel to Grandia 1. Elena/Millenia is the first Icarian. I'm sorry I know that, and I shall now hurl myself into traffic.
