I want to know what kind of giant monsters people on here like. My logic behind excluding Godzilla and King Kong is quite simple. I think it will make this thread far more interesting. Godzilla and King Kong are legendary, the former being my favorite monster of all time. I don't want to hear about them lol. I want to hear about shit like this!

Gorgo

Yes! I actually really do like Gorgo, no joke! This British made Kaiju film was actually a child-hood favorite of mine. I have fond memories of Gorgo terrorizing London. It was a decent King Kong/Godzilla mishmash, but the nostalgia factor gives this monster a bit of a boost for me.


King Ghidorah

The Destroyer of Worlds! A very easy favorite. An alien 3-headed dragon who has decimated planets. King Ghidorah has always been cool to me. I find the Showa and Heisei suits to be very appealing aesthetically. He truly was an intimidating villain in the Showa era, it always took a group effort to defeat this thing. Also, the cry Showa Ghidorah makes, is probably right behind Godzilla's roar for for me. It is simply other-worldly. I love it, been my text tone for a minute. Had to, especially after finally seeing Ultraman lol.

Horse King Heracles

A more recent discovery for me, this creature is from the shonen manga series Toriko. Horse King Heracles is a member of the 8 Kings, the most powerful animals on the planet. This creature kind of boggles the mind in all honesty. Horse King Heracles is 22,000m tall, and weighs in at 2,000,000,000,000t. This horse subsists on only air, and need only take a single breath a year. And that single breath, would essentially have the approximate volume of all the water in the Atlantic Ocean.

King Ghidora is my favorite Godzilla villain.
And as far as good guys go, I love Mothra and Gamera.

Best movie showcasing Ghidorah and Mothra: Godzilla GMK.
And for Gamera, the 90s trilogy of course, as well as the very underrated and very touching Gamera the Brave. I never see anyone talk about that film but it was truly excellent.
Also, yeah, The Host is a masterpiece but I can't say that I care much for the creature design. It looks ridiculous and grotesque on purpose but as a result it's not very memorable.
