Who got a 5090-5080? post in this thread

All sites in the UK were slow or down, once I seen the price for the nice looking cards I noped outta there... £1249-£1500 get fucked

The 5080 models were actually available...but every single 3rd party model started at least 200€ above msrp.
Yeah, I´m not playing that game.....

Nah, I didn't manage to nab one. Suppose I'll try again over time, but I really wanted a founders edition as the board partner prices are just a bit heavier than I'm looking to pay. Don't imagine I'll get in on this one. Back to trying to find a reasonably priced 4080 I suppose.

Best Buy Canada, waited in queue online multiple times only to be greeted with a 'sold out' message.

Nvidia sucks. Best Buy sucks. They had years to prep for these bots.

Best Buy sold out of the 5090 FE variant almost instantly. Got one in the cart immediately after they went live (couple seconds waiting in a queue), but then hit an error when heading to checkout... refreshed the page and now it's out of stock. Ah well, gotta play the long game on this one (like with every Nvidia launch)

I was up early so attempted a 5090 from BB. I had rtx 3000 flashbacks and gave up shortly after. They could just manufacture more but instead we get this stupid game. No thanks.

Is Best Buy the only place to get the FE? Nvidia's site is still crashed for me. I managed to get in once and it only showed 3rd party models.

People are selling pictures of them on ebay for 2k, I've reported a few of them as they're preying on people not reading correctly. Hate that stuff!

Got a 5090 FE. Honestly, I almost gave up after every website in the UK went down (Nvidia, Overclockers, and, in a way, Scan). Then, I found a little web app someone made that makes you bypass Nvidia's website, and after a couple of restocks, I managed to get one.

I recently built a second PC and moved the 4090 FE to that one. I needed a second GPU for my Desktop, and I would have happily gone with another 4090 if they were available. I wasn't thinking of getting a 5090 but I can't say no to a FE, their resale value is insane (though at the moment I don't plan to sell either)

just managed to snag a 5080 for 1200€ thanks to a deal-code I still had laying around.
30€ over MSRP for a bigger triple slot cooler. I can live with that.

I went "fuck it" and got a whole new prebuilt with a 5080, all top of the line stuff....

A bit embarrassed with what I paid overall, but happy to be getting top of the line everything except for the 5080, but it's the top of the line Asus OC Astral. Didn't feel comfortable with the 5090 power draw.

Got it from Overclockers.

link? that sounds very useful.

SCAN UK have some 5080s

Well saying 'in stock' but no option to buy.

I was hoping for the priority access links to come back but a Web app that does the same thing?

I only got one because of this. I worked for the UK, but I am not sure about other countries. It's worth having in the background

what food were you unable to eat before buying cutlery?

It's not about having the ability

A better comparison would be "what food were you unable to eat before buying gold plated cutlery ?"

There will always be a bourgeois adamantly telling you that food taste better with gold plated cutlery, but you'll be stupid to believe him or even listen to him.

I got a 5090 on 'pre order' from Scan UK says between 2-12 weeks on a 'first come first served' basis -- I don't care about getting it right now. I can live with my 3070 until this bad boy gets delivered.

Got put in the Best Buy line queue right at 9est. Sold out after waiting in queue for 19minutes. 5090s were priced too low. Wish I could just pay for it now and Best Buy can just send it to me when they get more. I'm not doing the whole multiple sites open waiting for alerts again.

You're implying that a 5090 can play games in exactly the same way than any other graphics card, as long as the game runs. Because that's what gold cutlery does vs regular cutlery. It doesn't provide any practical benefit.

Had a pre-built 5080 system in my shopping cart and was about to check out, but then reality struck, and I realized that I have a bathroom that needs to be renovated and can be done for the same price. Ugh, sucks being responsible.

Missed out.....would buy one for $3500 if anyone wants to make a quick buck ; ) FE
