Who got a 5090-5080? post in this thread

I wouldnt use a PC like this, temps would be great but the dust buildup would be crazy
I have a gross frankenstien test bench pc that is basically all of the guts splayed all over my work bench and I just swap in parts for testing.

I 100% agree with you here...I have no idea who could use one of these and keep the dust build up to a manageable level.

yeah plenty of cards in canada. 5090 not so much but there are at least 1 or 2 cards in each town almost.

the rest are everywhere.

thank god this horror is over. i am sick of scum people listing 4080s for 1500$ Canadian used. or 4090 for 3k.

what a bunch of sad losers..

glad I have an 5090 FE. working like a charm.

You got FE?? dayum

You don't live in Quebec then?

Nope. Ottawa.

but I only got the FE because someone wanted an Astral i had and was willing to pay the msrp difference.

it was my first choice card due to its price and size ( sometimes i like to switch to mini itx builds ). so i was super lucky in that regard.

There's a shit ton of them today when looking at canada computers. All in store not online which imo is better and more anti-scalper.

Seems the craze is mostly over or winding down a lot it seems.
Yep, been seeing stock in Microcenter (in-person) often through the week since I check their once in a while to see. And now Amazon seems to be offering cards to Prime members as well.

They aren't even close to MSRP of course, talking $1400+ and $950+ for 5070Ti, but at least stock situation is getting better.

Interestingly enough, 9070XT seems in shorter supply. And of course 5090 is nowhere to be seen.

Edit: I managed to get both 5080 and 9070XT a while back. 5080 was almost at MSRP and 9070XT at MSRP. So I got lucky basically.

I never said I am a normal person lol.

I like to upgrade and switch parts for better if I find a good deal lol.

I was happy with the Astral to be honest, but an FE is my go card ever since the 3090 then 4090, and now 5090.

I mean how can I refuse almost 1300$ difference in cash back and an FE card in exchange for the Astral lol.

I checked my options today since there was a lot of stock at canada computers and decided to make the jump before this tariffs insanity makes these GPU prices look like a bargain...

Picked a 1,199$ CAD 5070 Ti Gigabyte windforce OC which fits in my case like a glove for SFF, so one good thing I'll keep my beloved meshilicious case. For 3440x1440p resolution, I felt 5080 was too much probably and on a 5800X3D. In canada 5080 are 45% more expensive for... +15% difference? I picked a better bang for the buck for my build.

I went from 3080 Ti to this, mind blowing so far.

I started Cyberpunk 2077 overdrive of course...

Congrats. 5070ti was something I also was interested in as it has 16 gigs and multi frame gen . But I game at 4k 240 . Not even the 5090 is enough sometimes.

Still I would have picked up a 5070ti at that time if I found one cheap. All my options were tuf 5070ti back then and it was same price as 5080 msrp . I felt like an idiot if I bought a 5070ti for 5080 price.

Then looked at 5080 and it was more expensive than 4090 used market before it boomed. That pissed me off too because I had a 4090 and sold it in a build so it would have looked like I sold the 4090 for a 5080 and paid more for less. Didn't click with me so ended up with a 5090 heh

its a great card and the price sounds fair based on Canadian $.

One thing though, tariffs shouldn't apply to you guys up North. Either way though, have fun with the card.

The only reason I got a 5080 was because all the 5070Ti I could find were $950+ and I lucked out to get a 5080 almost for MSRP from Microcenter.

Guy at canada computers told me they received mountains of 5070 Ti and 5080. Almost nothing for 5090. But supply got a huge boost for their store and they have a ton of them in the back, not just the units on the shelves.

Yea, close enough to MSRP and the card is amazing so far. Undervolt 900mV, 2800 MHz, +1500MHz on core clock, in the 57°C range in an SFF case. Don't see the point of buying +$300 for slightly thicker coolers when the SFF baseline performs like that. And its silent! More so than my 3080 Ti. No coil whine, thank the gods

Also checked and I've got all the ROPS 🙏

Wouldn't be so sure about that. I feel greedy companies will just take whatever the price hike in USA from tariffs and put the exchange rate.
