Who is the biggest publisher?

So who is the most important publisher? Is it EA or is it Nintendo or another company?

Could someone compare the financials of EA and Nintendo (the whole company)? I want to see the financials and the sales. Sorry, but it interests me and I can't find something.

It's between Nintendo and EA.

EA publishes far more games. Nintendo probably has significantly more revenue overall, but also many more expenses. Hard to say.

Worldwide, I'd guess...

01 Electronic Arts
02 Nintendo
03 SCEI
04 Take Two
05 THQ/Activision/Konami/UbiSoft (toss up)

1) EA
2) Nintendo
3) ....

= Take Two (crazy, ain't it??)

4) Sony
5) Activision

EDIT: Jarrod's was real close to mine, but Activision is quite a bit bigger than the other publishers even with being mostly restricted to only US & Europe. Also, if there is a year with no GTA, then Take Two would tumble, but this year was the biggest yet.

Their financial statements are available on each company's website.

I would interpret it as an overall picture, but I suck at accounting.

Really?

At Nintendo's website, click the section called "Corporate".

At EA's website, it's called investor relations.

SEGA! Wait...you mean Sega didn't topple EA as #1 3rd party? Then certainly they must be #2.... :lol Sorry, a few years back I was called crazy for saying EA would remain on top. PEACE.

EA is the biggest in the world. Easily
Nintendo is #2 in the world. Easily.
Take-Two is #3 in the world for 2004.

Look above for #4 & #5.

It's not a guess.

It changes from year to year depending on what games they release.
Overall its usually Nintendo because they are top publisher in Japan and 2nd in America.

EA puts out thirty brand new million-sellers each year. A portion of those are actually 5-7 million sellers. Their goal is to reach 45 platinum titles a year. Each year. EA EA EA

Yeah spread across 3 consoles, PC, and three handheld of the same game. That's impressive wouldn't you say?
