Who's getting a Xbox 360 at launch?

Absolutely. I love new tech and the Xbox has been very good to me this generation. From what we're hearing about X360, it sounds like it's going to be very sweet.

I'll get one on launch if it allows me to play games from the first XBOX (ie, backwards compatible).

If not it will probably be a while before I think of getting one.

Already had the money budgeted and accounted for when the first rumors started to pop up. Microsoft has done an oustanding job with the XBox and their online strategy is brilliant and has improved since it's inception. I'm 80% sure I'll be there launch, I'm just waiting for E3 to confirm a few things for me. RIght now everything is rumor and circumstancial information. When I get the true story, then I'll commit 100%. BUt based on what I've heard and cobbled together, this console has me salivating like Pavlov's dog. I want a piece of the action.....believe that!

I'm considering it. Seriously, don't laugh.

The BF just bought a new computer with WMC, 360 might be a nice way to wirelessly stream content. Plus the launch library is sounding appealing and DS/PSP aren't exactly lighting my fire like GBA did... who knows. Maybe I'll be a full time console gamer this time next year? :)

If Xbox 360 officially supports HDMI output, and Microsoft brings out an HDMI cable for it, I'll think about it.

I'll be in Japan this summer/fall. So, yeah... I won't be there for launch.

Once I come back I'm sure one of my housemates will have one, so I doubt I'll buy one myself then, if ever.

Once there's a kickass killer app RPG (*cough* Elder Scrolls IV), then I'll make sure I have one available to me.

Probably. If there's at least one half decent launch title I'm there. DOA 4 would do it.
DOA3 was not enough to sway me to get an XBox at launch, but the release of DOAXVB and a price drop did :lol

So if that's any indication for me about getting the 360...

Actually, I'm hoping I can hold off. Despite having spent the money to get all 3 consoles (and a good number of games for each), with my current situation I just don't have much time to play games. I'm only now getting around to playing great games like Metroid Prime, GTA: San Andreas, Otogi, etc. At that rate I'm going, I'm hoping that the 360's library will be well established (and possibly even the PS3's and Revolutions libraries as well) before I'm looking at buying one. I'd love to be able to wait a year or so, hopefully after the first price drop, and be able to buy 3-5 AAA games on the same day.

Of course, I'm sure all of my friends will completely ruin this for me by buying their 360 at launch, signing on to the new Live service with whatever killer launch game the system has (even if its only 1 game that’s any good)... then they will gather round my house for a candlelight vigil, chanting "buy it, buy it, buy it" until I finally do.

But then, if they didn't do that, what kind of friends would they be :lol

It was their first console and all told, it ended up having a more compelling gameplay experience than Nintendo.
WTF??? Seriously I'm getting an XBOXEN 3600 on or around launch (cause I'm one of those early adopters no matter what system) but let's be real they had HALOS

And Ninja Gaidens, and PGR's, and Jade Empires, and KOTORs, and Fables, and Oddworld: Strangers Wrath, and Panzer Dragoon, and Crimson Skies, and DOOM 3, Splinter Cells with superior online play, etc.

lol, cant you see...its called an opinion... I also think xbox has way more offer TO ME than Gamecube. OMG WTF!

I will definitley pick one up at launch. I hope to score a 50"+ SED and Blu Ray/HD DVD within a year or so of that too (plus a PS3), so good times ahead. :D

Not me. I'll be busy playing RE4, FFXII, Wanda, POP3 etc :D

I'll probably get one eventually though. Can't say no to Perfect Dark.

Like several others have said I'll wait and see what we're in store for as far as launch titles/price goes. If I don't pick one up at launch It'll be shortly after (as new games come out).

Not sure yet. I'll most likely cave in and pick it up at launch, but this is the year that I'll finally be upgrading my lowly P3-500 to a spiffy Athlon 64-FX55, so I'm not sure if there will be room for the X360 this year.

Or should I go with the FX55? Maybe drop it down a few levels and get the X360? I don't know, I'm not a hardware guru. Suggestions would be appreciated.

now that i've found out Madden will be a launch title, I have moved into the "absolutely positively buying". hell, now that i know that, i will even prepay to reserve that bitch! :D

i cannot fucking wait till may 12'th mtv unveiling or e3 when they show this new Xbox 360 Madden. shit fuck i am happy cry hard!

Well, I have mentally reserved my christmas bonus for getting an x360, so its looking likely, but it does depend on what games will be out at launch. That said, the OS features of the x360 are really hot (As it is with the PSP to an extent). I sort of wish the whole, consistent interface for stuff across every game also applied across platforms, but thats is just wishful thinking.

It goes without saying that the WOW factor of each next gen game will depend on who is viewing it and what their expectations are...

As an example, the most advanced and longest developed Xbox 360 stuff will be games that were developed on a G5 with a Radeon 9800!!!

Have no fear, the xCPU/R500 developed stuff we see later next year will be out of this world, no doubt...

Just wait till Tecmo/Team Ninja get their feet wet with this system :D

Gonna get two Xbox 360s in 2005. One for the US launch games, one for the Japanese launch games (assuming there really is a decent amount of Japanese support during the launch window).

Then two PS3s in 2006

and probably just one Revolution since Nintendo products have always been easy to make region-free.

Still, not looking forward to the launches as $1000-1500 for each system launch is gonna hurt the wallet quite a bit >_<
