Why Americans don't like hardstyle?

It's a popular style of music in mainland Europe but why not in America?
It's high quality music imo.

So why is this not popular in America?

I don't want to be a dick because music elitists tend to get so very deep in to sad niches of music.

In USA we call this Techno. We've called it Techno since the early 90's.....there's about a thousand different versions of Techno that many music elitist try to establish as "something different" when in reality, IT'S FUCKING TECHNO MUSIC.

I'm sure you can give me a dozen arguments why this blink-blonk sound is different and how this makes it "industry" or "house" but ultimately, it sounds like fucking Techno.

It's techno bro, techno.

Dancing Adidas slav music.
It's not even popular in slavic countries. It's extremely popular in Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Luxemburg, France etc.
The french even have their own variation on it, it's called Frenchcore.
And Adidas is for Russians, normal slavs wear Puma bro. :messenger_beaming:

Just sounds like electronic/techno to me. I thought each of the songs in the OP were fine but not necessarily distinct.

Hinedorf Hinedorf put it better that I did.

yeah its just techno

lots of americans listen to techno
But it's not man.
Same thing with metal. Death metal is not the same thing as melodic death metal. Or Metalcore is not the same as Deathcore.
You think you can label all that as metal music? Actually, when I write it down like this, I guess you can say that it's metal.
Fine, you win.

Stfu dude everytime I walk pass our square center dumpster town and I hear this shit booming from a 12year old wearing these fucking new age rape boxes. U are Insta under par crapper. Srsly ur ears are tarded

In America we have this door stopper contraption that can convert your music to hardstyle. Ironically it works well with house music, too.

There are definite sub-genres within the umbrella of Electronic music, and it's incredibly easy to discern the differences between major ones. That's like saying there is no discernible difference between punk music, rockabilly, metal, etc, because they're all loud fast guitars. IT'S FUCKING ROCK MUSIC

I'm pretty much sure that you don't hear hardstyle from those kids. It's declining in popularity.
Also, Insta under par crapper? The fuck man? I don't have instagram. I hate all forms of social media, I think they're cancer. Except Gaf of course.

Yeah

Hmm pretty much sure? Why is that?

Anyway I meant instantly a fucking useless shitbag(sorry for using these terms..(insta) I think people will understand it but it's only in my world)but of course it's unreasonable and yeah I have also grown to hate these social shitfests.
If u like this style I have all the respect.
Just venting a bit...

We cool man.

We cool man.

Anyway my new year started in a car driving trough mid town with me fucking feeling and loving hardstyle(first time I kind of understood what's up) obviously I was drugged out of my mind but feeling or listening it after that it's just not my taste.(maybe this should have been my first post)

I almost love all EDM music, but I cant do hard style and house, hard style is too abrasive and has too many breaks to build up a flow and melody. I dont know how the europeans listen to it.

One good thing about it is, it seems to have the soul of old school hardcore techno raves which gets my nostalgia going.

I thought that genre died out in the late 2000's-early 2010's.

A local nightclub (UK) from back then had these humongous tower speakers hanging from the ceiling, they had to be at least 25ft tall and used to blast this stuff every weekend. I had some amazing nights in there, clubs don't have the same atmosphere anymore.

People who like any sort of music usually categorize it so they can find more music that sounds similar to it.

Mildly amusing post though.

Isn't the hardstyle phase in Europe also over?
I remember a lot of shuffle/hardstyle craze maybe 10 years ago, but I haven't seen a lot of events lately.
Could be wrong tho since I don't go clubbing a lot anymore.

Yeah there are few things more annoying than listening to music nerds argue over sub-genres.

Hardstyle is terrible lol. And no its not popular in Europe. Its popular in like Germany and 4-5 countries above it....and maybe in Switzerland. The rest I can assure you dont play this crap anywhere.

As for Americans here, guys this isnt techno either. Especially if you live in Europe, techno is way moodier, repeating beats, some of it is downtempo some a bit more up beat but it has no resemblance to what is being posted here. The two currently most popular electronic genres that still kill it in Europe are Drum n Bass and Psychodelic Trance.

That also kills it sometimes for me. I always skip the buildup sections and just get straight to the melody part.

Because we don't live in a Blade movie you Psychos.

That was dubstep version 1.6097854.687263

Never heard the term Hardstyle before, and I'd agree with Hinedorf Hinedorf that the music is Techno. Or at least that is how I knew it growing up in the UK. It was a little popular in the UK in the 90s but never stayed in the mainstream. When I hear music like this my prejudice kicks in. I think German night clubs and Russians drowning in Vodka. And the Blade soundtrack.

I don't like the music much myself, I usually like something more melodic and maybe calmer.
