Why are you buying a Rev?

I am wondering because people seem to want to buy it no matter how much of a "dissapointment" it is. Are you buying it for the backwards comatibilty, the wifi, or the controller or is there another reason. Personally i am getting it for the backwards compatibility, nes, snes, n64, gc, and rev in one. And for the size it's a hell of a lot more palettable to be than having all those console near my tv.

Becuase its a Nintendo Company, Ltd. product.... and because of the RevMote.

Everybody's got a reason :)

(should be the Revolution's slogan)

Anyway, personally because I dig Nintendo's games. I'm excited about the new controller, too, but it's mainly about the games for me.

Well the main reason is definitely getting games that I missed when I was younger. Then there is the tiny little factor that it might only cost $149 or less. Then there is always the N factor. Get N or get Out.

The only reason I'm buying one is because of pure hope that Nintendo will deliver the killer apps that only their innovative new controller could provide.

Oh and because it'll surely be cheap (comparatively to the competition) :D

I'm guessing it will have a relatively low price and

the combination of the games, price, and features (new controller, virtual console, wi-fi connection) makes it very appealing to many people, including myself.

Back catalogue, Online SSB, Zelda, and hopefully, if it exists, Mario 128.

I wanna see some games first, but the concept of games that don't play exactly like the ones I've been playing for the past 10 to 20 years interests me.

And the virtual console download service.

Pretty much, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking Nintendo is going to pull its usual bullshit and overprice it like with their NES Classics on GBA and the Micro. $99 is too good to be true, $149 I hope so, but $199 or higher... knowing how Nintendo is you can't rule it out.

1. metoid, mario and zelda

2. backwards compatibillity

3. FPS games... used to be one of my favorite genre's and then i gave up on PC gaming... i've never been comfortable playing them with standard controllers.

4. it's cheap, so what the hell.

5. there will definitly be some new genres invented for it, and i like to try new and different things.

I'll get one the day Metroid Prime 3 releases.

I honestly believe that Mario 128 is still <50% done at this point, if even that far. I'd love to be proven wrong at launch though.

Nintendo games, revmote is the coolest thing ever, free online, fits my budget now.

I would like to point out that anyone who only buys a Revolution is insane.

Oh, I also plan on getting many games via the Virtual Console. I have these games on PC but I like to purchase games that I like and since there's no way for me to purchase these games, i'll use the VC.

It's the only console I'm going to get until the PS3 and Xbox 2 are discounted. I'm still enjoying games from this generation and don't feel the need to play the same games with better graphics, yet.

Mario, Metroid, Zelda, and whatever old franchises Nintendo may be reviving *take a hint Nintendo*

Marketplace functionality with the ability to d/l oldskool games

Price - I don't have an HDTV nor a fancy 7.1 speaker setup, not to mention I don't care about graphics that much, so cheap system/games is good

Nintendo's reputation for quality

Being slightly disenfranchised with how the games industry is heading and welcoming a fresh breath of air

i don't intend to buy a revolution. but i sure as hell didn't intend to buy a ds, and yet one inexplicably sits on my desk. THE SPIRIT IS WILLING BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK

NES/SNES/N64 downloads
Great, innovative controller
Amazing FPS
Metroid Prime 3
SSBM Online
Mario 128
New Miyamoto project
Exclusive Kojima project
etc etc etc

I feel the same way. The PS3 is going to be way too expensive for me to afford, especially since I have a mortgage to pay off on my own. I'll pick it up when it drops in price but until then, the Rev will keep me busy.

And for the guy who "fixed" my post. How am I a casual gamer? I've owned every major console that was released in the past 20 years and I post on video game message boards, nice try :p

Because if Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright are good indications that third party developers can, in fact, produce unique experiences on unusual hardware, despite the technical limitations.

Oh, that and the kick ass Nintendo 1st party games. :D

For a number of reasons, but mostly because I want to play Mario using the Revmote.

Edit: I hope it gets a River City Ransom style beat em' up, complete with off-beat humor. :D

I buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games...and from the looks of things, it's going to have many exclusives for it (hell, many games are going to HAVE to be exclusive to it)

Why I'll be buying a Revolution:

- Nintendo makes the games that I tend to enjoy the most

- I see the potential for some new types of games with that controller

- being able to sell off all these old systems/games that I'll be able to get on the Virtual Console will net me some $$$ and free up some space

- cheaper entry point than the PS3, so I can buy and enjoy the Rev while waiting for the PS3 price to lower a little before I get in on that (won an X360 from Pepsi/Doritos so one system is covered)

- I'm losing interest in gaming as it is and I want something different than the same old that maybe the Rev might offer (going by the fun I've had with the DS, maybe Nintendo can do it again)

- Nintendo makes my favorite games
- Its gonna be cheap
- Graphics will look at least decent
- Controller looks awesome
- Great backwards compatibility
- Smash Bros. Online

I already bought a gamecube, I don't need to buy another one.
Well, at least your title is correct.

I'll buy one becuase it will have brand new gameplay. Something I have been wanting for awhile now.

If I want to play something "archaic" i'll pick up one of the "other" two consoles.
