I unclick the option, yet avatars still appear.


I ask, because someones avatar causes a problem with my firewall and locks up my IE. So i would like to turn them off

I've asked this very question before, turning off the avatars from the options only blocks the ones that are hosted on the GAF server. And since most avatars aren't hosted here, you're out of luck!

I've installed Firefox and modified my UserContent.css file so that avatars don't load. Let me know if you need help with that.

I don't think my network admin will allow me to install Firefox. Guess I am SOL.

If it's just 1 avatar causing the problem, maybe you can find out the link and point it to 127.0.0.1 in your hosts file. That way the avatar won't load at all. If you're allowed to do that.

Not that it matters in any way but Ive been posting on this forum for about 5 years. Lots of kewl people left and theres 2 people using my old screen name, ah well.
