Foods you can't stand.

Beans. I will literally gag on them and spit them out if I try to eat them. It is mostly the texture. I can eat string beans and green beans, but not any other type of bean.

Peas for the most part, but if they are deeply hidden in rice (Chinese food and Portuguese food mainly) I can deal with them.

Mussels. I like most other shellfish seafood but mussels just piss me off lol. It's the shells.

Lasagna. I love pasta, cheese, sauce, dough, and especially pizza, but... I fucking hate lasagna.

Parmesan cheese. I like many other types of cheeses, but I will gag on Parmesan. Even the smell makes me gag.

Aye, I never understood the love for mussels.

I think they're tasty, BUT I cannot fully enjoy something that's-

98% shell and 2% meat ..

lol

I only had mussels once and even though I loved the dish, I wish there was more meat
That goes for most shell fish, but still very good IMO. Prepared well with lemon, butter, white wine, etc. Very tasty even with the lack of portion.

When was the last time you tried them? I didn't like them as a kid but years later I decided to give them another shot, since I'd heard that people often grow to like them as their palate matures. I tried one, thought it was great, and now I have them all the time. Might be you still hate them, fair enough if that's the case, but it could be worth trying one again to see what you think.

I can't stand the smell, lol I totally can't bro trust me 😂

Going to have to add Potato salad to this. Its such a weird consistency, semi weirdly hard bits of potato in weird white sauce, it always makes me retch a bit on the way in

Strange stuff. No idea why my body rejects it so much. I've eaten worse stuff that didn't have the same effect.

I've never been much into innards. Liver I can stand when used in certain sausages and pates, but that's about it.
I've also always hated cucumbers and, from the same plant family, melons (which just taste like sweet cucumbers IMO). Watermelons are ok though
Rice pudding sucks too, I don't really know why since there's no ingredient in it that I actually dislike, but it just doesn't come together as something good IMO

Cucumbers are the absolute worst. I can't even stand the sight of them.

Funnily enough, I do like pickles, which is weird..

Never underestimate the power of vinegar!

Same, I do like pickles.
It's just the regular raw cucumber that is terrible.

Greek Tzatziki is acceptable too, though really it's the yogurt, garlic, olive oil and dill that basically just cover up the cucumber flavor lol

Yeah, that's a no from me. I hate all that shite. Kidney, liver, wtf. I remember my old man telling me that his old man (My grandad) used to have stuffed hearts..

What in the hell is even that?

I swear he was pulling my leg.

Jettison the lot.

Yeah my grandpa is into all that stuff too, hearts, brain, etc. He actually made brains for us once when I was a kid,
I've always assumed it's from his childhood. Growing up in a poor family in Italy right after WW2 I guess all of this stuff was the only affordable "meat"

Ah, so it was real then :messenger_neutral:

That's so grim though, I honestly don't think I could partake In such dining

If anyone offered me brains or hearts I think I'd rather eat my shoes :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I've used to dislike many foods as a kid (olives, bitter chocolate, spinach, raw cucumbers, beetroots...), but I've grown to like them all. I actually like different weird tastes & aromas - kimchi... kombucha... goat cheese... even managed to eat some surströmming without any gag reflex.

I still hate, though:
- marmite. Who the hell enjoys it? UK truly has the worst cuisine ever
- licorice/salmiakki. No no no
- anything with anise. Ouzo being the worst alcohol ever

I'm generally not a fussy eater and will try pretty much anything. However, there are foods that I can't stand eating anymore. Some, I just never was a fan of. Others, I will flat out refuse to eat.

There are two main foods I can think of that I refuse to eat:

One is cucumber. I just don't like the texture and taste. In fact, the taste of cucumber overpowers anything it's put on, effectively making the whole dish cucumber.

The second repulsive food to me is mustards. Any kind of mustard. I was never a fan of it and would rather lick a dirty toilet bowl than eat another smidge of mustard. Similar to cucumbers, mustard overtakes anything it comes in contact with, even if you put on a little bit of it.

What about you? What foods don't you like and why?

But seriously, I hate green peas. Slimy ass fuckers with a slight moist taste of shit as they slide down the throat.

I can eat pretty much anything, but put any organs in front of me and I'll throw that shit in your face. I wish I could enjoy them, they're so good for you.

Avocado - Bland hipster crap
I get not liking avocado, I hated it deep into my early 20's, but "hipster crap"

tha GIF

What does that even mean? Like, is Mexico a hipster country? I'm guessing you're referring to avocado toast? Which is more upper middle-class yoga-mom food if anything.
