Why can't we just separate the Nintendo stuff?

Why can't the admins just make a separate board for all Nintendo discussion, while this gaming discussion board are all about gaming stuff other than Nintendo's?

I think this will be better for this whole forum. The quality of gaming discussion will be improved with a lot less trolling and arguing and complaining, etc.

Why can't they just build some kind of giant wall between Israel and Palestine to ease the tensions in the Middle East? Surely this separating wall will be better for both countries, and will immediately cause a lot less fighting, killing, suicide bombing and...

Honestly, if I may say so, yours is a terrible idea. I can't imagine having any discussion about games in general and somehow not having someone talk about Nintendo at some point. Surely even in the most non-Nintendo of threads, the phrases "reminds me of Zelda" or "I had more fun with ROB the Robot" aren't unreasonable to expect.

What a moderation nightmare -- and GA torture test.

Put simply, it'd be like forcing Parkinsons Disease patients to play Milton Bradley's Operation -- no matter how hard they might try, you just know that fucking buzzer is going to go off within seconds.

It's obvious that Nintendo fans and non Nintendo fans can't co-exist. So why not separate them?

I see tons of Nintendo fans complaining how they get unfair treatment. At the same time non Nintendo fans complaining how they can't stand Nintendo fans, that's why they troll in order to spite them. This greatly decrease the quality of gaming discussion.

Separate them is the way to go.
 
Here's a better idea. Fire the offending mods and hire fairer ones.

It won't stop flamewars, but at least everyone gets banned. Not just some.

It's obvious that Nintendo fans and non Nintendo fans can't co-exist. So why not separate them?

I'm sorry, but if i'm readings my number correctly, videogame as an industry, as in portables, console and pc etc. it would be Sony and Nintendo splitting somewhat 50/50.

Sony dominates the console arena so thoroughly, it's pointless to name Nintendo or Microsoft, which in Japan, is a non factor.

You can debate about all the buzz for Xenon or Revolution or PS3, but it always happens with new console releases. Lots of anticipation and possibilites, like a new baby being born. But like most kids, the parents come to realize sooner or later they won't be president, or a CEO, or a manager, or make 60k a year and be stuck selling pizza at a corner store for $4.50. I'm sure you're psyched about the next gen, but i'm not holding my breath about a great Nintendo or Microsoft victory.
 
Honestly I think the problem (if you consider it a problem at all) is simply because certain mods are the ones who are baiting/causing the most flamewars.

I mean yeah, its a joke and its funny, but if it bothers you, that's really the problem right there. It has nothing to do with having one forum for all the platforms.

Not true. A lot of decent Nintendo fans just got banned in the thread, and a lot of them are not insane fanboys that's for sure.

Olimario just went out and bought PSP and keeps going on about Katamari Damacy. Other posters like Speevy or Cybamerc or Jarrod are probably among the better posters on the board and hardly trolls.

So who exactly is this new "martial law" thing supposed to protect us again? If you don't want idiots hacking the forum, stop having mods starting topics/making posts which have no point other than to flame.
 
I want some names. Who and where are these many alleged Batshit Insane Nintendo Fanboys? The only one I can think of off the top of my head is gigadent/seismologist, and he is long banned. Others are merely junior members settling into what is usually a more mature environment than your typical VIDEOGAME FORUM ON THE INTERNET.

I think the problem is the 'jokes' isn't funny at all. It's tired and boring, especially by the same group of people. But anyway.....

The point is separating them should make these people less annoyed by Nintendo fans, then they should go to troll in the Nintendo board less often, thus less flamewars and trolling. Isn't that great?

There are really no "crazy" Nintendo fans at Gaming Age. That's really all the DS Sucks thread proved. Couldn't ban anyone crazy, so guys like Speevy had to take the fall.

The really crazy ones fell off the bandwagon somewhere in between cell shaded Zelda and Miyamoto showing off Pac-Man VS. But really its been years.

The Nintendo fans left here are generally among the best posters and like Nintendo for its games despite their eccentric business policies, generally having a good knowledge of the company and the game industry as a whole.
