Kamille, that is one great avatar.
Drinky Crow said:Dragmire: You've got your little story sadly wrong. As part of the running gag that is my contempt for Nintendogs, I first closed the thread, which was re-opened by Mike. I then moved it to the Off-Topic Forum. The other Nintendogs threads I left alone.
Look, if some administrator jokes at the expense of sensitive, lachrymose fanboys makes your eggyolk eyes bulge with horror, find another forum. Seriously. We aren't an entirely serious place. Videogames don't deserve the sort of embolism-building gravity that some of you treat them with.
It's fucking NINTENDOGS for Gawd's sake. Shit, I can barely take the games I *do* like seriously -- how DO you expect the sane to treat a damn puppy simulator?

Drinky Crow said:Fuck "passion". I'm an adult, not a dull kid. I have a wife, a kid of my own, a 50+ hr/week job, a writing hobby, several friends I like to hang with, a couple forums I post to, political blogs and books to read, a house to maintain -- exactly WHERE does that leave room for gaming to be some sort of dreadfully serious, all-consuming PASSION?
You're right, I don't have "passion". I don't WANT passion, especially for videogames. What I wanna do is have fun during the free time I have to play games, where I sit in front of a television and twiddle with a controller. How anyone can treat an idle amusement with such leaden gravity is beyond me. If you have so much energy for gaming that it turns into activism, you really need to fucking get out more.
With cuddling and kisses. And passion.Drinky Crow said:how DO you expect the sane to treat a damn puppy simulator?
Let's just say the data is....interesting.Minotauro said:Someone should create a poll regarding console ownership. Like Marconelly, I suspect that there are more primarily Nintendo fanboys than fanboys for any other system. Also, location should be included in the poll just to satisfy my curiousity.
Would you please stop comparing Doug to Hitler?AssMan said:Drinky Cow is like Hitler and the Nintendo fanboys are like the jews. He's out to destroy them all.

In fact, ALL of the war comparisons are unwarranted and, frankly, insulting.
-jinx- said:Let's just say the data is....interesting.
However, there is a difference between owning a Nintendo console, and being a Nintendo fanboy...unless you make the assumption that fanboyism is directly proportional to ownership. In other words, if you could prove that x% of console owners of any kind are fanboys, then showing that (% Nintendo) > (% other system) would be sufficient to prove your point.

You guys let this crap out on the streets, now you have to clean it up.
That goes for both sides.

Some day it might not be, but for now, as the old-timers know, jerkball mods are currently and have been part and parcel of the GAF experience. Deal.

Sure, but you've obviously got some specific tastes. He averages a 7.1 at KidRankings. Maybe when he hits $20.Dr_Cogent said:My kid kicks the shit out of any video game. Nothing is cooler than him to me.

Drinky Crow said:How about you STOP being a Nintendo fanboy? Seriously. Buy a PS2 and/or an Xbox to accompany your Gamecube, and try to enjoy some other content. Y'know, be a gamer, instead of a corporate marketing tool. Kick your nostalgia to the curb and live in the fucking now -- a now where Nintendo is a third-place player and who produces only a small portion of the AAA content out there.

Who is being attacked and who is defending has nothing to do with the real state of thingsJust look at the Nintendo related threads (the official RE4 thread being the prime example), they generate more interest than anything else here.

Die Squirrel Die said:I was thinking in GAF history. Some of the arguments went on for days, weeks even. And they spawned the legends of Futami and Deadmeat.
AniHawk said:I believe just letting people discover things on their own, by being around a good environment that encourages variety, instead of forcing it on them and telling them that they're stupid and wrong, is a much better way to get rid of fanboyism.
You're absolutely right because constant flamebaiting isn't asshat behavior at all.SailorDaravon said:Everybody getting upset about this needs to take a deep breath or something. Nintendo fans seem to think that they are taking away their rights to post their opinions. I'm sure even Drinky would be the first to say you can still post your opinion, so long as you aren't A TOTAL ASSHAT ABOUT IT. They're not going to ban you for posting a logical, rational opinion on something. They're going to ban you for posting "omfg ds is the shit sony can suck my ass motherfuckers." No message board anywhere is completely fair. So long as you're not an idiot you're fine, and shouldn't worry about being "oppressed" or whatever.
dark10x said:I can't imagine why anyone would want to separate the Nintendo stuff. Do people really get that upset over insults to something they love? For me, that is part of the appeal. A thread with nothing but positive remarks and full agreement is no fun at all. The most interesting and appealing threads typically feature an argument of some sort.
