Why didn’t JJ Abrams do this in ROS?

For as fan service driven as that movie already was why didn’t they pull the trigger on this ? it would have been more hype then Lando showing up with his fleet for sure . That went over in my theater with a wet fart

This would have been a pretty exciting moment in a mediocre at best film.

His storytelling sucks. Him and his unanswered questions that require novels and comic books to understand the movie.

How'd the lady find Luke's light saber? Why did Finn keep saying he had something to tell Rey? Why was C3P0s arm red?

He's terrible.

....What Finn had to say to rey was answered in the movie. I have no disagreement about JJ's issues, but that part was right there in the movie.

He wanted to tell her he was realizing he was force sensitive

I read that they all filmed Cameos for a scene like that.
I did too this was amazing honestly. I feel like this tweak and actually killing Chewie would have made it a good film.

That wouldn't have saved the film That's just as cringe as the whole film was. In fact, it would have upped it's cringe factor, which is something I never thought would be possible.

Jar Jar should have returned to kill the emperor and redeem himself

Star Wars doesn't resonate with so many people because of stupid wizard shit like this. I didn't bother watching RoS but if this is setting the bar higher I'm glad I didn't waste my time.

Lmao what the hell dude, Star Wars is litterally one of the biggest franchises in the world. It resonates with more people that all but a few media franchises. I'm no fan of the last 2 movies either, but don't delude yourself, the Star Wars name is a still a very powerful media franchise, whether you "waste your time with it" or not.

Ok, wow, thought that was really cool.
Not sure it would have saved the movie, but, at least it would have had something memorable.

You've misunderstood my point, let me rephrase: Star Wars resonates for reasons other than force lightning and ghosts and all that bullshit the OP implies would have improved the movie.

Because JarJar Abrams is a hack.

I loved what he did with The Force Awakens (in my top 3 SW films) but I feel like he had no clue where to go after The Last Jedi.

They really should have gotten Christopher Nolan or Denis Villenueve.

Don't tell this to the prequel crowd.

I don't think my brain ever hurt as much as it did when I left the theater after seeing TPM. What a fucking abomination. Was like a shitty theme park ride in film form. With the same quality writing / acting.

Didn't like the original but this is probably worse. Goes from super OP Rey to cheese+++.

The Emperor should have won. He nuked the galaxy with his power before that and then he loses because he has to just doesn't feel right.

RoS felt to me like they realized the fans hated the sequels and they used this movie to ret-con it all out so they can start fresh with the next one. In saying that, RoS is probably my favourite of the sequel trilogy.

No it wasn't. He never said that in the movie. JJ Abrams had to clarify because so many people were confused.

That was a huge improvement. Doubt it would have saved the film but looks cool as fuck.

Wasn't this scene in one of the legit leaked scripts? I just remember being confused it wasn't included. I could be misremembering.

When she's repelling that force lightning, her facial expressions are like she is taking the biggest dump of her life.

Does Rise of Skywalker even classify as a film? All I remember from it was just a bunch loosely connected images streamed directly into my eyeballs. Quite possibly it is one of the most brainless things ever made.

Fuck me what an awful actor she is

And u forget rey is female, she's doesn't need a man to help her do anything, you not been following the new SW?

The best ending would of been luke waking up at the end and realising it was just a dream

"The “Rise of Skywalker” script, written by Abrams and Chris Terrio, never revealed what Finn wanted to tell to Rey. There is another instance after that moment where Poe (Oscar Isaac) nags Finn to reveal the truth about what he wanted to tell Rey, but Finn never budges. All signs pointed to Finn telling Rey he loved her, but fans were left confused why Abrams didn’t answer such a major question. It wasn’t until an Academy screening of “Rise of Skywalker” after the film’s theatrical opening that Abrams said Finn wanted to tell Rey that he is Force sensitive. This clarification came after Boyega took to social media to declare, “No, Finn wasn’t going to say I love you before sinking!”"
