I mean it doesn't really matter. You swallow liters of mucus every day. Your nose connects at the back of your throat and mucus just pours down there constantly. Taking it out of the front isn't exactly a leap. Being so averse to it is actually kind of weird, especially since humans seem to have a compulsion to do it that seems to be immune related.

It is kind of tasteless to do it.
