Why does every thread I open on my phone open to the 2nd page?

It doesn't do this on my PC, only on my Samsung phone. It's been doing this for awhile and I have no idea why. And no I'm not tapping the little page 2 button under the title.
Sorry if this isn't the place to ask but I saw no other section of the site more relevant than here.

could be a browser setting? most browses have a setting to open every link in a new tab. some website have that too.

how are you going to the site? Bookmark? Those quick link when you first open a new tab on your browser?

It could be using the 'gaming-discussion.2/page-2' URL which is why your always directed to the second page

I think there's some confusion about what's happening here. I go to the gaming discussion forum from a clean bookmark link. I'm browsing using Chrome on my Android phone. I have desktop view enabled so the pages are rendering full scale for a PC. I am clicking the thread title in the forum main discussions page and if there are 2 or more pages, I will always open the thread to the second page. If I go back and click the same thread again it puts me on page 3, then 4, so on and so forth. It has to be some site setting that's automatically directing me beyond what's marked as read, so page by page it's automatically opening threads to the 2nd page or further depending on how many times I open the same thread. It doesn't do this on my desktop where clicking the title bar of the thread always puts me on the same first page.

The default thread link for logged-in users (for both desktop and mobile) is to your first unread message in that thread. Loading a page of replies will mark those posts as "read", so clicking on the same link multiple times will indeed take you to subsequent pages.

Sounds like it's working the way It's supposed to. Maybe on your desktop you're not logged in? In which case it will just take you to the first page of whatever thread you click on.
