Why does the US media believe the WH can control everything around the world?

Like it or not, global stability affects a world power like the USA. Not having a part in these affairs creates a counterproductive ripple effect.

regime changes pushed by US/UK nterests in the past have created blowback decades later that led to bigger problems in the present

All drugs will never be legalized, the most will be marijuana. Mexico needs to take care of it's corrupt government first and foremost if it wants to deal with drug gangs seeming to operate with impunity in many areas of mexico.

stop manufacturing guns, stop selling them to other countries

I personally don't see how killing terrorists in Somalia or Yemen protects Americans (there is little to no US presence in those countries) but it is scary to see that all that isn't going far enough for a lot of people. How is such a ridiculous article able to make the front page of a major US newspaper unless this is a widely-shared belief?

Some reporters might actually believe that. One hopes that most do not, for they should see far too much shit to nurture illusions of that nature.

They do, however, have to construct a narrative that will resonate with the audience and glue eyeballs to the telly. Emotional appeals get that, thus, the narrative is constructed in such a manner.

All you gotta do is remember that not one year ago the whole damn country nearly lost its mind over Ebola. And that a significant part of the population considers Daesh a credible threat. These things happen mostly due to ratings and political opportunism.

Just think of how much we spent on military, it is not for charity. US only involve if it is directly related to their own benefit.

Blame the government for declaring a war on international terrorism and using that to justify restrictions on civil liberties and trillions of dollars toward the military-industrial complex.

If they are going to claim these new powers in the name of fighting terrorism, they deserve to be taken to task when terrorists have major successes.

We dream about drones, said 13-year-old Yemeni before his death in a CIA strike

“I see them every day and we are scared of them,” said Mohammed Tuaiman, speaking from al-Zur village in Marib province, where he died two weeks ago.

A lot of the kids in this area wake up from sleeping because of nightmares from them and some now have mental problems. They turned our area into hell and continuous horror, day and night, we even dream of them in our sleep.

“In their eyes, we don’t deserve to live like people in the rest of the world and we don’t have feelings or emotions or cry or feel pain like all the other humans around the world.”

Wonder if ISIS would exist if the Bush administration didn't do their terrorist acts...

Wonder what the recent US terrorist drone acts will do...
