Why don't we have a Yoda series of films?

The character is pretty much universally loved.
There is so much mystery around him before the prequels - we can't count books for most of the public.
Tha animations don't count (clone wars).
The 'Child' shows just how much audience appeal he has.
Dude lives forever so they have at least 20 seasons off the bat.

I just don't get it when they seem to take risks with Solo etc. Mando was very good

Seriously: i see the lore gap.. I'd just as soon they (disney) left well enough alone lol

My best guess is that it’s one of those things best left to the imagination, because the reality probably won’t live up to it anyway. There would undoubtedly be some plot hole that fans would cry about. Having said that, when has that ever stopped anyone?

Give me a Yoda in high school drama series.

He wouldn't work seriously as the main character of a movie unless it was pure comedy. Your best bet for this would be an cartoon yoda. Not the cg stuff. That way it could be as over the top with the action and as goofy and funny as they want it to be.

I think after Mandalorian, we will get some sort of show with a focus on Yoda on his species.

Not his own show, i think it would work best like how Gus Fring in Better Call Saul.

I'd say it's because no one wants to spend 2 hours listening to a character talk like a fucking idiot. Unpopular opinion: Yoda is best in small doses...or not at all.

As others have said, there's a certain amount of mystery surrounding Yoda that it would require a serious amount of talent and respect for the lore to create films or TV shows for the character and Disney has neither of those.
I'm still asshurt over them getting rid of Lucasarts.

Personally I think Disney should just leave all the OG trilogy shit alone. I think they should either go way back in the past like Kotor or way in the future. Actually come up with some worthwhile new characters/planets/races without having to use the original trilogy as a non stop crutch.

Until then, I just can not convince myself to be geniunely interested in anything Star Wars related

The problem with "mystery" surrounding a charecter is once you explore it... its gone. You'll rarely ever live up to what the inferred mystery could have been. All you do is take something away from a character when you remove that element.

I mean look at Solo. His back story was more or less a mystery, all we really got was "he's a smugler who occasionally pisses off a giant slug alien and he's a really good pilot that has a pretty cool ship". When the movie actually started explaining that stuff... it lost all its charm. The legend loses that "legend" statues when you know all the details.

Nobody wants to see him for the full duration of a film. There is a reason he's used sparingly and it's because he's annoying.
