why has there never been a Voltron videogame?

Voltron was my favorite cartoon. I could think of alot of ideas for Voltron videogames.
everything from simple 2d shootemups to more complex flight/land simulations to 5 player arcade games (Lion Voltron). something in the middle like Steel Battalion and its complex controller. lots of gameplay mechanic with the Lions and Voltron. or 15 air-land-sea ships that combine into 3 mega vehicles or the other Voltron. as for Lion Voltron: good story elements about Keith, Hunk, Pidge, Lance, Princess, Lotor, Zarkon, Haggar, Koran, Romelle and of course, Sven.

combined the animated style for the story but 3D gameplay like Voltron The 3rd Dimension

I want to see a Voltron game on nextgen systems!

It took over 20 years for me to get Robotech Battlecry, so you've probably got a bit of a wait ahead.

A Voltron game would rock, but at the same time I don't know if I want good childhood memories dragged through the mud due to a crap game.

I wan an RPG like Xenogears. The 5 can fight on foot or summon the lions. There should be lots of ancient ruins on that planet for them to explore.

totally OT, but was there ever an ending for this series? I watched it so many times, but don't recall it ever coming to an end. Whenever it seems close, they went and restart from the beginning.

I think a Voltron game would suck. Let's say that it was a game designed to have 20 hours of gameplay. How would that 20 hours break down?

6 hours = commercial breaks
1 hour = backstory from Planet Doom
1 hour = backstory involving one member of Lion Force
2 hours = fan service with Princess
9.5 hours = getting your ass kicked by a Robeast because the shitty AI caused one of your team members to get separated from you, preventing you from forming Voltron
0.5 hours = find missing team member; form Voltron; kick ass, take names; roll credits, still no sex with Princess

I agree with -jinx-'s assessment. It would suck.

Instead, I propose that there be a Tranzor-Z/Mazinger game. I've always wanted to see Aphrodite's missiles rendered in glorious 3D...

A Mazinger-Z game came out years ago for the Mega Drive. It was even released in the US as Mazing Saga (or something like that)

But yeah, a new one would be nice.

fuck...while we're at it, let's hope for a Thundercats game and a *better* Transformers game too.

My childhood will never be complete without those...and I'm 21. :o
