Why no Halo 3 vids/images/hype @ E3?

A Halo 3 looking like that, which I think is quite feasible, would sell 360s like there's no tomorrow.

yeah, im pretty sure that itl look better than that.

That pic looked amazing.

Looking forward to X05 if Halo 3 will be shown.

When is that again?

Halo had better levels than Halo 2's SP,but the gameplay is better in 2,just go back to 1 and drive the vehicles for instance, sweet christ! :|

what? sorry but you're in the minority. Halo 2 has my respect for the MP but there's no way that Halo 2 has a better SP...no way.

In your opinion. (I actually agree with you - but that's not the point. I have not seen anything even approaching a consensus on this.)

about the general concensus:
Halo:CE #6 > Halo 2 #10

and well the ammount of backlash that H2 received (even on the Bungie.net forums)was stunning, not to mention that someone taked care of registering a Halo2sucks.com domain

But you're right maybe I can't conceive how someone can prefer Halo 2 more than Halo:CE but is their opinion after all, I only hope that after the 1.1 patch Bungie actually realized one of the things that was wrong with Halo 2.

I will be happy if it look like this:

and more happy if they don't screw it this time.

i'd be happy about that too!!

if it is better then that i'd be floored.

Agreed,

Halo 1 > Halo 2 - Single Player. Halo 2 > Halo 1 - Multiplayer

Overall I will still say I enjoyed Halo more because it was such a mindblowing game and its incredible physics still make new FPS today seem old and not polished.

Actually, Microsoft did announce a Halo game with better multiplayer, better weapon balance, and better multiplayer maps than Halo 2.

I'm still pretty conflicted about Halo 2's single player campaign, and after months of trying to figure out why I'm still not much more clear. What I have decided is that a big part of what made Halo great was the close-quarters combat, specifically grenades and melee. Both Halo 1 and 2 feature great vehicle and long-range battles (more of the latter in Halo 2), but Halo 2 really FUBAR'ed the close combat; melee is not as useful or powerful and grenades are not as powerful, exposive or fun.

It's tough, because there are genuinely great things in Halo 2. Battling with Hunters on your side was an absolute riot, and I've come to believe that Outskirts is the best paced level in the series. (Area defense, sniper alley, close skirmishes, vehicle battles and climaxing with a huge chase/vehicle combat sequence. Very non-repetitive and excitiing.) Vehicle boarding, moveable objects and destructable vehicles all make Halo 2 more fun. But poor level design later on, the aforementioned poor close-quarters combat and general lack of 'impact' to the combat make Halo 2 less compelling, for single player, IMHO.

All that is changed in MP, though, especially since the AU fixed the grenade/melee combat. Definate way better than Halo. Oh, and the MP level design is superior in Halo 2 as well, MarkRyan. By a long shot. :)

What I don't get is why the update didn't affect the 1p mode, if those things you noted are shortcomings, the update should have fixed them in the 1p mode too.

Just wait till they emulate it on 360 and make it live enabled. Do it MS.

I find it very frustrating that the AU didn't affect SP. Very.

That's kinda shitty then, I assumed the AU fixed the problems in the 1player mode. If Bungie fixed these problems for the online play, they're OBVIOUSLY shortcomings, I don't get why they wouldn't do the same for the 1 player mode. It makes no sense.

Maybe if all youre looking for is a plot with a decent ending. In terms of gameplay and scenarios, Halo 2 >>>> Halo 1.

Yeah, they offered up some reasoning along the lines of how MP game play out differently than SP, but it was pretty weak. It's weird going back to SP now. I keep dying because two of the three methods of attack are nerfed. They basically made SP unplayable for me because if feels so different than MP now - and not in a good way.

Makes. No. Sense.

Like I said is your opinion it's fine, I still believe that Halo 2 should be re-named H2:Combat Devolved or Halo 2: Combat for dummies and for the scenarios Try to play the Halo level or the Silent Cartographer level (just to name a few) those levels are magnifiscent and very inspiring, there's nothing like that on Halo 2....sadly

Don't count on it, Bungie already said that they will not remake Halo:CE, try XBconnect or Xlink instead

Hunt for biases elsewhere, my only loyalties are to Kojima.

Searched.

"Forza got overrated pretty quickly."

... more bashing of Forza ... something about how dumb AI (GT4) is better than Forza's AI... :lol

Tecmo bashing.

Your bias is obvious after looking at only 3-4 threads you've posted in.

You guys are confusing preference with bias. I very much wanted to love both Halo 2 and Forza before playing them extensively (Halo 2 especially).

Okay, final post on the matter because this is getting off-topic. As a multiplatform gamer and professional editor, what do you love about the Xbox? :) That's so much more productive than hate for console-specific titles like Splinter Cell (may as well be anyway, other versions are garbage), Ninja Gaiden, Forza, KOTOR, and Halo 2. It's a trend. Coincidence? Possibly.

Halo: Combat Evolved

I also really like the Colin McRae games, RalliSport Challenge 2, OutRun 2, Panzer Dragoon Orta, DOOM 3... I couldn't care less which system a game is for except that certain genres are better on certain controllers.
