Why No Love For Mustard?

This is for all the New York GAFers, and Jersey ones as well.

Why is it that no fast food chain has mustard on their burgers? You get it everywhere else. Is there a reason for this?

Im not a New Yorker but I love mustard on my burgers above all else. What I dont like is mayo. Here in Texas your either going to find a burger joint that puts mustard or mayo.

Hah, travelled down south not too long ago, and man, the mustard on the burgers was a bit startling. I've always done it at cookouts but it just does not go well with the fast food burgers IMO.

Deli/dijon mustard is a MUST on sandwiches though.

The yellow crap that most consider mustard is just that... crap.

Real mustard is brownish and godly... and does not include sugar(wtf Hellmann's, I'm sticking with Gulden's).

Yes yes yes on dark mustards. I'm especially fond of grainy ones as well. Better Burger here in NYC (are they around anywhere else?) offers a wasabi mustard as one of their condiments. MMMmm mmmm good.

Hitokage is right.....there are some damn fine mustards out there. Like the kind you get with 3 dollar pretzels. Oh shit that stuff's good.

I generally dislike mustard in general, though. I'll put it on a burger or a hotdog (although I don't eat hotdogs anymore), but only if there are numerous other condiments on there as well, including ketchup.

Mustard + Horseradish = Heaven
You just picked the two worst condiments man has ever invented/discovered.

There's a reason mustard is used in chemical weapons.

I beg to differ. I like the taste of mustard combined with the kick of horseradish. Nothing else can clear out your nose like a spoon full of horseradish (besides wasabi).

Come to Chicago; mustard is the default condiment on all non-mexican/chinese food that is cooked on a grill. Asking for no mustard and ketchup on a hot dog garners suspicious stares from some short-order cooks and other people in line. Pisses me off because I can't stand the stuff, usually because it gets smothered on everything and makes the breath and aftertaste particularly nasty.

But I'm very finicky with my food.

I didn't like mustard when I was a kid... It made me want to puke.

But now when I am older I have come to realize how damn good mustard really is.
