Wii-U - Amazon listing UK prices and launch date

I was a little concerned about my Amazon order still sitting on 'Dispatching Soon' so i just spoke to someone on their chat. They told me there'd been an error with my shipment information, said the can guarantee it'll be with me tomorrow. About 2 minutes later I got my emails from Amazon saying everything had been dispatched, and tracking shows they handed it over to the courier company a couple of hours ago.
 
Finally marked as dispatched \o/

In slightly more worrying news, according to that Nintendo site you Go to, some Amazon orders of the premium pack have arrived without Nintendo Land.
 
Can't get through to anyone on HDNL contact numbers, some other numbers are no longer available. The only address I could find was wrong, and there was no guarantee that I would be able to speak to anyone anyway. Guess it'll have to be tomorrow now. I'm not even that annoyed that I'm not getting the console today - I'm more annoyed at them lying to me. Amazon should stop using them because it's putting me off using Amazon...

Yeah this happened to me. I got on to Amazon's customer service on the livechat and they're sending me another copy of the game for free tomorrow.

I've been playing around a little bit with it, sent my Mii over from my 3DS and walked around the house with the gamepad. Unfortunately reception doesn't seem to reach my bedroom, even though my house is small :( On the plus side, the screen on the gamepad is very vibrant, much more than I was expecting. Nice to see Youtube and Lovefilm channels as well (though Lovefilm doesn't seem to be ready yet).
 
In a hilariously cruel twist of fate, the Basic WiiU I ordered to sell on (or "flip") has dispatched. The Premium WiiU I'll be keeping.....has not.

Karma, ladies and gentlemen.

I'm not actually making much of a profit on the Basic Pack, I got it for £165, selling for £190 to a friend so it's still below retail price. I guess Karma is a fickle biatch though!
 
I am pissed off!

mine still not dispatched but still says expected delivery tomorrow. Called earlier and the lady told me it was on the van. Not sure if she was Bull shitting me!

Just called again and the guy saying he has no idea whats happening as delivery date has not been changed.

Just log on to amazon.co.uk and ask for a call back regarding your Premium WiiU if you were charged the full price.

Say you payed the full amount for your WiiU while other folk only paid £199; you should be offered an amazon gift voucher as recompense.

In other news, the £100 rebate I was meant to get from Amazon after dispatch hasn't happened yet. I'll give them a few days as they're probably snowed under with Wii U complaints at the moment.

in my experience with rebates (not amazon related) waiting doesn't help. get in touch with them as soon as possible. the longer you leave it, the harder it can become to get the rebate honoured.
 
I caved in at the last moment and ordered the premium pack this afternoon at 4.57 PM (3 minutes before the cut-off for next day delivery!) and I just received my dispatch confirmation via. City Link.
 
My Zavvi order shipped yesterday and DPD where supposed to deliver it today but didn't :-(
I clicked the 'deliver to neighbour' button in case it came when someone wasn't home...the tracking still says that it is in southall depot but it's said that since last night. Annoyed!
 
Just spoke to the nice man at Toyrus. They've got my machine with my name tag on it. What a relief.

Well, I just send them an email, since I can't be bothered talking on the phone right now and they might also be not working at this time, and just told them how upset I was with the way they handled their customers, charging £200 to some and £330 to others, and that the least I should get as compensation was a Wii U game, or at least a voucher.

Let's see what they say tomorrow.

I have the ZombiU bundle preordered, and I phoned up just before close today to double check. Still there. Still £349.99. I'm guessing the manager who talked to you is fishing for more add-on sales, as they're heavily targeted on them tonight.

it wasn't the manager, which makes me hopeful that the girl was mistaken or just following a script. I'll go in tomorrow and demand to speak to the manager if they try to pull a fast one in store. the receipt says £349.99, that's what I'm going to pay.

the strange thing is I might have bought some extras if it wasn't for the phone call. it's put me off buying anything more from the store outside of the wii u. I'll take my business elsewhere after tomorrow.

Well, im going to the midnight opening, and my receipt indeed says £349 too.

im literally only taking enough to pay the remainder. If they try screwing me over, im off to Tesco.

Looks like you can finally register the Wii U for points on the club nintendo site, once you've linked the console via the eshop, just go to the club nintendo website and click on the link next to the Wii U from the link "see all my registered systems and games".

1000 points got :)

Seriously, you'd be better logging in and asking for a call-back. Asking for a game...wish I'd thought of that, but was so fechin' pissed off at being accused of lying/reading nonsense on the internet when they called the second time to apologise I just suggested a voucher and plucked £5 out of the top of my head.

Just saw the Zombi U commercial on ITV

I went to my local indie shop today. They said they're getting zero WiiU. They have customers that are coming in tomorrow, some have already paid up front. The manager said it's going to be nightmare for him.

He said the UK only got 4000 for launch. Can that be right?

Also popped into GAME. They are doing a midnight launch but said all WiiU's are pre-allocated to pre-order buyers. They have none spare.

There was a rumour a while back that the UK was getting only 25,000 for launch... and THAT would have been extremely low (Wii sold over 100k in the UK on its launch), so 4,000 is almost certainly incorrect. Could he have perhaps meant shipments per day after launch?

from what the girl from game told me, they are getting another shipment in the second week of december, the 15th to be exact. maybe the fast second shipment means that 4k figure isn't far off?

I wonder if the uk will see an environment where people can sell their wii u for an exorbitant price, unlike the environment in the us where demand isn't that high?

4000 is no where near right. 40,000 maybe but even so thats not much for the UK. Most consoles sell around 100k at launch here and thats a sell out.
 
Update! All dispatched, all free super saver, all via City Link. Supposedly delivered tomorrow (never gonna happen, my address is remote).

Dude, play hell. Go nuts at them! They're completely obligated to honour it if that's what you were told and you have proof.
 
I just went to an anime screening in Central London and am currently just outside the Oxford St HMV and there is literally no-one queueing atm. Hoped to get some streetpass hits as I walked passed...
 
My Wii U arrived today from amazon and now it's updating. It's taking forever to update and I had a few problems connecting it to the internet. The Gamepad is really nice and light. The console is larger and longer than I originally thought. Cant wait to play ZombiU once the system is updated.
 
Does anyone who ordered from Amazin using Prime one-day delivery still have their order sitting on "Dispatching soon"? The games I ordered at about 6pm today have been sent, but not the console.
