Is that The Last of Us or Beyond Two Souls, I really dont know lol
Beyond.

Random question, but does anyone know what Alpha Dreams is up to?
I figured since we're getting a Paper Mario on the 3DS, we won't see one on the Wii U for some time
Beyond.
It will be a big interactive cutscene. Have you played Heavy Rain? It's just a rendered cutscene. Unless the game is just one big slightly interactive cutscene then it mostly won't look anywhere near that.

I banish you to hell for that lame joke!
No, you will do it today you damn tease!Played Wii U today; will post my impressions and some pictures tomorrow ;P
Thoughts so.

Nintendo better make an HD Starfox built from the ground up. No more remakes or ports. It's astonishing this IP made no appearance on the Wii.

Some gameplay. You can tell it's a slightly more advanced point-and-click CD-ROM adventure type of game (going off that anyway) with lots of scripted and rendered events, that's how they can get away with it. Certainly very easy on the eye though.

Edit: Beaten like hamster trying to fight a dinosaur.
This paints such a vivid picture.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
the hamster wins, but the twist is everyone dies at the end...
Actually the idea is not new at all. Taito's Space Invaders Get Even did this back in 2007/8 on wiiware. A great game, btw, even though its DLC was a bit overprices. You know, immediately after I made that stupid joke, I looked up Line Attack Heroes again 'cause I couldn't remember what became of it (turns out it was released in 2010 as a WiiWare title in Japan ... huh) and guess what? They both share the "multiple small characters form a shape to attack enemies" mechanic. It's totally in that game as well! I almost couldn't believe it. It looks like a tech demo for P-100!
Line Attack Heroes was developed by Grezzo (they did the Ocarina 3D port and Four Swords Anniversary on the eShop) under Koichi Ishii (creator of the Mana series). Is he friends with Kamiya? Did they hang out and scam through their old games and Kamiya said "hey that looks cool, how about you draw the shape on a touch screen!"

Was she the one that posted BS about the Wii U back in the day?
Hmm... well I guess something is something.

(yes, gaf, a wiiware game from 2007 had mechanics similar to P-100's *and* overpriced DLC - wiiware was from the future!)

No need to artificially downplay the technical achievements of Heavy Rain and Beyond. The way Heavy Rain controls and how it puts you into the character's shoes is pretty fantastic. The VO, writing and story was pretty crappy but on a technical level, those games are pretty remarkable!
Emily Rodgers just tweetet this:
"Nintendo attracting mobile developers. Game called "Star Beast" in development for Wii U's eShop. No idea on release date or game's genre."

Star Beast?, That's sounds interesting.
What exactly makes you think it sounds interesting, when all you've got is a name, composed of two of the most cliché sounding words in videogame history. Is it the "Star" or is it the "Beast" or is it really the combination that makes it sound interesting? lol
I wasn't really downplaying it but I don't really see it as an achievement either. It's like how some 2D/3D scrolling space shooters have amazing detailed backgrounds, but it's not like the hardware resources are doing much of anything else, so of course they can send it in other directions.
You know what kinda annoys me?, when people say "I'll buy Wii U just for Nintendo games", that's the claim some devs say where "Nintendo fans only buy Nintendo games", buying only Nintendo games does not help.
I'm not in the business of helping.
I want to play good games. If a good exclusive or definitive game comes along for the Wii U, I'll buy it.
Otherwise I'll have all the other systems and a PC, so I won't really care about third party stuff so much.
Yeah but lets say if you have a Wii U and a PS3/Xbox 360 and there's a multiplat would you buy it on the Wii U or PS3/360?.
Star Beast, eh? Wonder if it has anything to do with the book.
Who Goes There?Star Beast was also the name of the story that eventually became the movie Alien.
Give yourself a cookie if you can name the title of the cult classic movie [without using the googles] which the co-writer of Star Beast worked on/in that Star Beast was supposed to be a horror version of.
Horribly phrased but it's 1 am here so give me a break!
Who Goes There?
It's real time.It's just a rendered cutscene.
Don't forget that there is a physic engine and some AI (deactivated for demo purposes) in place. You can push around objects the entire street, that isn't scripted. You can also kill people with almost any object, there is some sort of ragdoll implemented.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxmv4CHfJtc

Is this real time?, because if it is I can't wait to see better looking games on the Wii U, that looks amazing on the PS3.
I guess Emily Rogers was telling the truth about Star Beast

"Star Beast- Wii-U/PC/mobile (in development)"
What is Star Beast? Has it been announced? Can't find any media on it.
