Alright, at first I was hesitant on the Hex system, it's not needlessly complex and definitely adds strategy to the battles. I'm about 5 hours in so far. Love the customization options and the story is quite interesting thus far.
Surprisingly enough, the field system is actually MORE interesting than normal. While you don't have nearly as many tools as the traditional Wild Arms games, the areas are quite fun to navigate, and the addition of jumps and double-jumps lends almost a Valkyrie Profile to the field. Plus they did away with the locator system from the last few games. I also enjoy the fact that your HPs are automatically recovered after battle, really allows you to focus on the battle at hand and make the battles more challenging without turning it into a DQ-style grindfest.
Oh and of course the music/anime intro still rocks. *LOVE* Raquel's character.
